SALEM

— Officers responded to a 1700 block South Lincoln Avenue business at 9:34 a.m. Friday where staff members reported finding a firearm on the property. Staff members provided a list of names of a possible owner of the firearm, which was taken to the police station for safe keeping until it could be claimed.

— Christopher M. Mcconville Jr., 22, Benton Road, Salem, was charged with menacing, reckless operation and operating an ATV on the roadway after officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 10:10 a.m. Friday in reference to someone operating an ATV in the roadway in a reckless manner. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle, but a short time later a patrolling officer found Mcconville Jr. recklessly operating the ATV at Centennial Park. After the officer cited him for the traffic violations, Mcconville Jr. reportedly made threats and made a menacing gesture, at which time he was taken into custody. A search of his person revealed suspected drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the county jail and further charges are pending.

— The owner of a 700 block East Fifth Street home at 4:01 p.m. Friday reported someone within the past couple days had broken out a window of an unattached garage. A neighbor said a group of teens had been in the area, but the neighbor did not see them do anything. The owner requested extra patrol of the area.

— Officers responded to a 600 block East Third Street home at 4:34 p.m. Friday where the resident reported someone had broken out a window of the residence while he was at work. The resident said a bag of change was taken.

— Julia L. Dundon, 22, Ridge Road, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a three-vehicle crash in the 200 block of West State Street at 4:46 p.m. Friday in which she was eastbound and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle and causing a chain reaction. The driver of the vehicle in front of Dundon was treated on scene for possible injuries. No other injuries were reported.

— An officer checked on a disturbance call in the 400 block of East Euclid Street at 5:03 p.m. Friday and found that two sisters had been in an argument. There were no signs of violence or injury and the two women said the fight was only verbal.

— Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center at 5:44 p.m. Friday in reference to an assault of a staff member. Charges are pending.

— Officers responded to the area of Jennings Avenue and West Third Street at 8:27 p.m. Friday in reference to someone screaming. They spoke with a resident who said he had been in an argument with his ex’s mother, but that she had already left.

— A pedestrian flagged down a patrolling officer in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 12:48 a.m. Saturday to report she had been assaulted by three other women. She said she did not want to pursue charges, but just wanted to home. Another woman arrived to give her a ride home.

— Officers responded to a 700 block Franklin Avenue home at 1:24 a.m. Saturday where the resident reported a male individual who appeared to be impaired was walking around the yard. Officers were unable to find the person.

— An officer responded to a 500 block East Third Street home at 4:12 a.m. Saturday where the resident reported a white van had been circling the block then stopped in front of the residence, at which time someone inside the van fired an air rifle at the home. The officer was unable to find the vehicle.

COLUMBIANA

— A man came to the police department at 10:40 a.m. Friday with a wallet he found in front of the post office. Police checked the contents of the wallet and left a message for the owner.

— Mark and Diane Sarver, Royal Birkdale Drive, Columbiana, reported at 3:50 p.m. Friday they were the victims of some fraudulent activity with one of their bank accounts.

— An Arby’s employee reported at 5:17 p.m. Friday someone stole her purse sometime during her shift. The matter is under investigation.
