HIGHWAY PATROL

–Trucker Kanan Omarov, 34, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was cited for failure to control and leaving the scene of an accident after he went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole while driving on state Route 165 in Unity Township at 5:37 p.m. July 9. A witness reported Omarov had just picked up a load from Oil Field Services & Technologies, and the highway patrol was able to determine his identity. Omarov was later reached but his truck was in New Jersey. Omarov said he declined to stop because he did not believe his truck sustained any damage.

–Hannah J. Prasco, 21, of Lisbon, was cited for failure to stop an assured cleared distance after she drove into the rear of a stopped vehicle operated by Amy Eshelman, 52, of Salem, at the intersection of state Route 45 and Saltwell Road in Center Township at 1 P.M. Monday.

–Richard M. Titus, 66, of East Liverpool, was cited for failure to yield after he pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Stephanie Harrold, 48, of Columbiana, and his vehicle was struck. This occurred at the intersection of Lower Elkton and Metz roads in Fairfield Township at 3:58 p.m. July 10.

–Trucker Kyle L. King, 30, of Orrville, was driving on U.S. Route 30 in Hanover Township at 6:56 a.m. Monday when a dump truck coming from the other direction sideswiped his semi and continued driving on.

–Zachary Jones, 38, of Negley, was cited for failure to stop an assured distance after driving into the rear of a vehicle operated by Rhonda J. Simmons, 63, of East Palestine, who was stopped in traffic on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 11:08 p.m. Friday.

–Justin J. Davis, 28, of Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after he went off the left side of the road, striking a utility pole and a sign for Jeff’s Fresh Farm Produce, on state Route 45 in Center Township at 4 a.m. Monday. Davis fled the scene but returned with his father. He told the trooper he had fallen asleep at the wheel.

–A trio of motorcyclists riding together wrecked on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 8:56 p.m. July 8, sending two to the hospital. Ryan Bertolo, 30, of Koppel, Pa., reportedly struck the motorcycle being driven by Marcus A. Moxley, 23, of Wellsville, and then struck a motorcycle operated by Justus Milbauer, 23, of East Liverpool, before his motorcycle overturned. All three were wearing helmets. Bertolo was taken by ambulance to a Pittsburgh hospital with suspected serious injuries, while Moxley drove himself to a local hospital before troopers arrived. Milbauer was uninjured.
