— Police responded to the area of Depot Road and the state Route 45 bypass at 11:28 a.m. Wednesday in reference to a male screaming and throwing objects at motorists as they passed. Officers located the male, identified as Cody E. Bratt, 26, Salem, who was very agitated and refusing to provide information. He was found to be walking to his Apple Street home from an area business. He was advised not to walk in the roadway and cause issues with motorists. Officers later responded to the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:47 a.m. where Bratt was causing problems at two businesses. Officers had to Tase Bratt and cited him for disorderly conduct with persistence and resisting arrest.

— A Lake Avenue resident reported at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday that a male against whom she has a protection order had left her several voice messages and shown up at her residence wanting to speak with her. Charges are pending.


— Officers responded to a 900 block West Wilson Street home at 7:36 a.m. Wednesday where a person had reportedly ingested a suspected illegal substance and was having a bad reaction to it, being combative and making threats against himself and others. Officers found the person being restrained by a family member and he was transported to the Salem hospital for evaluation.

— Rodney D. Thompson, 48, West Pidgeon Road, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash at State Street and Lincoln Avenue at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in which he was northbound in the left turn lane and struck the rear of a vehicle in front of him. The 68-year-old driver of the other vehicle was evaluated by medical personnel on scene and transported herself to a personal physician with a possible injury.

— An officer responded to a 200 block North Cunningham Road business at 1:41 p.m. Wednesday where an employee reported someone overnight had removed two front center cap covers from his vehicle. The business agreed to forward surveillance video to the police department.

— An officer responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 3:18 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a domestic dispute between two men. Both men said there was no problem and one of them left the area.

— Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 4:39 p.m. Wednesday and found people yelling at each other. One of the individuals involved said they were leaving and all those involved were given disorderly conduct warnings.

— An officer responded to a 2400 block East State Street business at 5:02 p.m. in reference to someone playing music and asking for money. The officer was unable to find the person.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Fourth Street at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday where a resident reported two juveniles showed up at her home without a parent and had been there for approximately 15 minutes. Officers spoke with the mother of the juveniles who said they had been at a neighbor’s and she did not realize they had wandered off. The juveniles were returned to the mother.

— Gary Wadlow II, 36, East Vermont Avenue, Sebring, was cited for possession of marijunana paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the 200 block of West State Street at 6:18 p.m. Wednesday.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 8:46 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a male sitting in a vehicle with his head on the steering wheel. Officers found the male to be watching something on his phone.


— A Cherry Valley Drive resident reported at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday a person claiming to be from Microsoft attempted to get her to give him remote access to her computer. The resident said the person then made alarming threats about her bank account and also tried to bill her or remove $292 from her account for services.
