Carrollton man gets community control for domestic violence

LISBON — In Common Pleas Court, Cody A. McClain, 25, Carrollton, was placed on four years community control for domestic violence for a violent attack on Melody Reynolds on June 20, 2018 at the Travelers Inn on state Route 45, Lisbon. McClain had jumped on top of her, choked her, hit her in the face and struck her in the back and ribs several times, then threatening to murder her and bury her in the pits. Additionally, he came at her with a pair of scissors in a threatening manner before she fled to the nearby Highway Patrol post. McClain has been ordered to pay $8,380 in unpaid medical bills while he is on community control.

Chad R. Hanlon, 39, Logan Street, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to assault and requested immediate sentencing. Hanlon was sentenced to 180 days suspended jail sentence and placed on three-years community control. Court records indicate on June 25, 2018, Hanlon struck William Jackson in the head with a shovel handle during an argument.

Kathryn M. Carmen, 35, Akron, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs for having less than a gram of heroin on March 26, 2018. She faces up to a year in prison and a $2,500 fine. Sentencing is set for Dec. 2.

Frank A. Carelli, 61, Jimtown Road, East Palestine, who had been ordered to serve a 60-day mandatory sentence at the Eastern Ohio Correctional Center after pleading guilty to a fourth-degree felony OVI on Dec. 14, 2018, but had been terminated from his stay at the EOCC. Carelli was credited with 32 days for his time served and sentenced to another 28 days in the county jail.

Kaid David Todd, 29, Ambridge, Pa., was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction. He pleaded guilty to trespassing in a habitation and breaking and entering for trespassing into the home of Melissa and Troy Todd, Chestnut Street, Leetonia, for four days starting on Oct. 8, 2018. Todd was placed on a three-year intervention program.

Chrystal L. Westover, 35, Arch Street, Alliance, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for having alprazolam on July 28, 2018. She was placed on three years community control.

Tracy A. Sarchione, 42, was placed on four years community control including up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center. Sarchione pleaded guilty in June to charges of aggravated possession of drugs for fentanyl, possession of heroin, trafficking in drugs for selling heroin on 1.39 grams of heroin on Aug. 24, 2016 and three counts of possession of drugs for heroin cocaine and tetrahydrocannabinol.
