— Firefighters were called at 8:12 a.m. Monday to the 1600 block of Salem Parkway West for a complaint of open burning at a business. An illegal fire was found and the open burning laws explained to employees, who were given a warning for the violation.
— Fire personnel responded to the 2100 block of Monroe for a report at 2:33 a.m. Monday of an electrical burning smell inside an apartment. Police also responded. The female tenant was unsure where the smell was coming from. Firefighters determined the refrigerator was the issue and unplugged it. Maintenance personnel on scene said the refrigerator would be replaced in the morning.
