LISBON — The Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury indicted 44 people after meeting for three days this week, including the former girlfriend who allegedly hid Sherman Pritt in her home while authorities were looking for him in August. The grand jury declined to indict one of the cases presented and continued another case presented. Of the 44 indictments issued 29 were secret indictments, which will be released after they are served. The remaining 15 open indictments are listed below:
Stacey L. Dawson, 37, Y and O Road, Wellsville, is charged with obstructing justice and violating a protection order for allegedly hiding Pritt in her home on Aug. 25, while denying she knew where he was to authorities and when she had a protection order against him.
Ryan D. Wilson, 29, Barclay Avenue, Salem, is charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and two counts of felonious assault, second-degree felonies. On Aug. 22, Wilson allegedly used a knife to injure Elijah Joel Paul Beiling and Eric D. Collins in the driveway of his home and then reportedly threw the knife into a fire in the back yard to conceal the evidence.
James J. Lippiatt Jr., 30, Fair Avenue, Salem, is charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, for allegedly attempting to deprive patrol officer Michael King, of his weapon on Sept. 27.
Shane Lee Potts, 29, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, is charged with aggravated burglary, a first-degree burglary, for allegedly trespassing into the occupied home of Gloria Sosack, Park Boulevard, East Liverpool, on Sept. 8 and inflicting or attempting to inflict harm on Sosack.
Daniel Lee Smelser, 38, last known address Duquesne Street, Columbiana, is charged with failure to provide a notice of a change of address. A registered sex offender with a conviction of lewd lascivious/indecent act upon a child in Polk County Florida from 1999, Smelser is required to register his address, but allegedly failed to do so on Aug. 21.
Chelsey Dawn Beebout, 31, Oakwood Street, East Liverpool, is charged with resisting arrest, domestic violence and two counts of assault. Beebout is accused of harming both Capt. Fred Flati and police officer Jonathan Kerchofer on Sept. 15, causing harm to Debra Beebout, a family member, and interfering with her own arrest.
Devin E. Baker, 34, McClure Road, East Palestine, is charged with felonious assault, assault, obstructing official business, unauthorized use of a vehicle and failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer. On Sept. 11, Baker allegedly attempted to harm Timothy J. O’Neil Jr. using a deadly weapon, a motor vehicle. Additionally, he allegedly took a 2004 Ford CR2450 belonging to Thomas Ford and fled from police.
Andrew H. Hunley, 43, Youngstown, is charged with tampering with evidence, resisting arrest, possession drug abuse instruments and obstructing official business for allegedly attempting to conceal a backpack with a syringe inside on Aug. 31 by tossing it in heavy brush.
Donald R. Tucker, 65, Annesley Road, East Liverpool, is charged with two counts of vandalism for allegedly damaging property owned by Frederick Auto Sales on Aug. 5 and Aug. 6.
Shawn Ashley Osborn, 39, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, is charged with domestic violence and violating a protection order for allegedly harming Jessica L. Douglas on Aug. 23.
Charles M. Butler, 45, Youngstown, is charged with tampering with evidence for allegedly concealing evidence on Sept. 10.
George E. Montgomery, 66, Allison Street, East Liverpool, is charged with OVI alcohol or a drug of abuse, failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, driving under OVI suspension and resisting arrest. Montgomery allegedly was driving under the influence and fled from police attempting to stop him on Sept. 7, 2019, when he already has been convicted of a felony OVI offense in Hancock County, W.Va.
Derek Ross Westover, 33, Fairmont Road, Elkton, is charged with tampering with evidence for allegedly hiding a controlled substance from investigators on Sept. 10.
Vincent Lane Brokaw Jr., 34, Bradshaw Avenue, East Liverpool, is charged with domestic violence for allegedly harming Angie McElroy on Sept. 29, 2019 when he has a previous domestic violence conviction in Richland County in 2016.
Sarah L. Hudson, 30, West Pershing Street, Salem, is charged with trespassing in a habitation for allegedly going into the home of Grayson Anderson, Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, on June 28.
