— Abbey Dawes, 35, of Ridge Road, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her eastbound vehicle struck the rear of an eastbound vehicle driven by Jessica McComas, 27, of Beloit-Snodes Road, Beloit, who had slowed due to traffic on U.S. Route 62 at 4:21 p.m. Saturday in Knox Township. The patrol report said McComas suffered a possible minor injury but refused treatment from EMS at the scene. No injuries were reported by Dawes or her 7-year-old passenger.
— The driver of a FedEx truck, Jacoby Duncan, 27, of Thibodaux, La., was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, in particular the signs warning of a 12-feet 6-inch clearance limit, after striking the overhead railroad bridge on Georgetown Road in Knox Township at 5:50 p.m. Friday. The report noted that a sign warning of the clearance limit is posted 400 feet prior to the bridge and on top of the bridge itself. There are two additional signs on each side of the bridge. The driver admitted to seeing the posted signs. The vehicle sustained damage to the top of the trailer and top of the cab. Besides troopers from the Lisbon patrol post, personnel from Homeworth Fire Department, Columbiana County Engineer’s office and Norfolk Southern also responded to the scene. No injury was reported.
