SALEM FIRE

— Firefighters were called at 9:38 p.m. Wednesday to Buckeye Elementary School, 1200 Buckeye Ave., for a fire alarm. Maintenance advised a smoke detector alerted in the boiler room. Upon entry, burnt rubber could be smelled and a compressor was found with a burnt belt. Power to the compressor was shut down and windows opened to remove smoke. The alarm was reset and maintenance was advised of the issue.
