SHERIFF’S OFFICE

— Deputies responded to a Bye Road, Unity Township, home after a report of an unruly 12-year-old girl at 12:24 p.m. Saturday. The grandmother, a caseworker from Psych Care and the child all spoke with deputies. The girl reportedly had assaulted her caseworker, who had made her get out of bed. The caseworker had began to clear items out of the girl’s room, leaving items in the yard next to the house. Everyone had calmed down by the time deputies arrived. The caseworker was concerned the girl was shoving her grandmother around and she would be injured. They hoped to get the child into a treatment facility on Monday. Deputies ordered the girl to get dressed for the day and begin doing the chores on her list. Additionally, she was warned not to hit or push her grandmother and that one more call to the sheriff’s office would result in her being placed at the Tobin Center.
