HIGHWAY PATROL

— Judith E. Robb, 71, of Negley, was cited for failure to control for driving off the side of state Route 154 in Middleton Township, striking an embankment and several small trees at 12:20 a.m. Thursday. Robb said she swerved to try to avoid a deer.

— Jason A. Cornell, 41, of Salem, was cited for failure to control after making a turn onto state Route 45 in Middleton Township and rolling over at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

— Miranda R. Easterbrook, 22, of Poland, was cited for failure to control after failing to stop at a red light before turning onto U.S. 30 in Hanoverton and striking the side of James Lauer, 61, of Carrollton, at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.

— Dara A. Redfern, 42, of Kensington, was stopped on state Route 39 in Washington Township when she was struck from behind by Mary A. Arnold, 78, of Mechanicstown, at 8:04 p.m. Wednesday. Due to the location of the curve, limited visibility and extreme weather conditions there were no citations issued.

— Timothy R. Foster, 27, of Negley, was cited for failure to control after driving off the side of Sprucevale Road in Middleton Township, striking an embankment and overturning at 11:46 p.m. Dec. 6. Foster, who fled the scene on foot after the crash, was the boyfriend of the registered owner of the vehicle and did not have permission to drive it. It was suspected that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, but he was not cited for OVI due to the time that had passed from the crash to contact with Foster, the patrol said.

— Brittney J. Welling, 22, of Salem, was cited for assured clear distance after striking the rear of Joseph H. Cattell, 57, of Beloit, who was stopped in traffic on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

— Jerry L. West, 73, of Leetonia, was cited for assured clear distance after striking the rear of Helen A. Bieber, 60, of Leetonia, on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday.

— Robert C. Bertelsen, 58, of New Springfield, was cited for assured clear distance after striking the rear of Debra A. Ulam, 56, of New Springfield, who was stopped at a stop sign on Columbiana-New Castle Road in Fairfield Township at 5:31 p.m. Wednesday.

— Samantha E. Mullen, 20, of New Waterford, was cited for assured clear distance after striking the stopped vehicle of Nicholas E. Adamson, 39, of New Waterford, which hit the vehicle of Elmer D. Zimmerman, 58, of Hanoverton, who was helping Adamson jump start his vehicle on the side of state Route 517 in Fairfield Township at 5:59 p.m. Dec. 5.
