LISBON — In county Municipal Court a Jan. 21 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Shane LaFlame, 18, Granite Avenue, Salem, charged with felony charges of intimidation and escape, as well as a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business for refusing to stop walking or give police his name, while walking with a group of four people. Salem police were investigating a report of shots fired nearby on Sunday. After being taken into custody, LaFlame allegedly took off running from police attempting to place him into a cruiser and while waiting for first responders to treat him threatened to hit police in the face. Bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety.

A Feb. 13 pretrial was set for Scott W. Knight, 21, Rose Commons, Lisbon, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly running from the Granite Avenue home while police were ordering everyone to prone out and show hands.

Mark D. Knight, 20, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was fined $100 and sentenced to five days in jail for obstructing official business for fleeing from a home on Granite Avenue, Salem, on Sunday, when police were there to follow up on a report of shots fired.

Vijay Patel, 55, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $1,200 and sentenced to 10 days in jail for four counts of operating a gambling house for machines at a Super USA Food Stores on South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, last September and October. Ruchi Ben Patel, 20, and Mita Patel, 47, both of South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, each pleaded no contest to gambling in relation to the same operation, but were not fined.

Michael R. Tice Jr., 35, Mick Road, Wellsville, was credited with three days served in jail, sentenced to an additional 17 days in jail, fined $925, had his license suspended for a year and required 40 hours community service for OVI first offense and failure to display a valid sticker.

Karen M. Miller, 52, Erie, Pa., was fined $700, had her license suspended for a year and required to attend a three-day counseling program for OVI first offense and speeding.

Larry D. Johnson, 26, Hammondsville, was fined $725, had his license suspended for a year, required to attend a three-day counseling program, sentenced to three days in jail and required 40 hours community service for OVI first offense and failure to control.

Jeffrey S. Andres, 45, East Pine Lake Road, Salem, was fined $400, had his license suspended for 90 days, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 40 hours community service for speeding and reckless operation amended from OVI first offense.

Patrick Allen Taylor, 25, Vine Street, Salem, was fined $300, had his license suspended for a year, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 40 hours community service for a tail lights violation and reckless operation amended from OVI first offense.

A Jan. 21 pretrial was set for Lester D. Lovett Jr., 27, Clinger Avenue, Alliance, charged with obstructing justice for allegedly fleeing a traffic stop by Minerva police, highway patrol and the sheriff’s office, by driving recklessly and then running into a creek and up a hill on Saturday.

A Jan. 30 pretrial was set for Jamilyn M. Hutson, 35, McCracken Road, Salem, charged with obstructing justice for allegedly telling deputies she did not know the two men who jumped out of the vehicle she was riding in, \one of which was identified as Lovett and who told deputies they had been dating a few weeks.

Nicholas Ray Oates, 25, Irondale, was fined $250 and required 30 hours community service for driving under suspension and speeding.

A Feb. 25 pretrial was set for Betty L. Richey, 24, Adams Road, East Palestine, charged with theft for allegedly taking gift cards and other items from the Salem Walmart, while she was employed there in December.

A Feb. 27 pretrial was set for Brandon S. Farmer, 35, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, cited with failure to control and failure to stop after an accident.

A March 2 pretrial was set for Robert K. Baird, 31, Goshen Road, Salem, cited with driving under OVI suspension.

Joshua Levi Griffin, 26, North Lima, was fined $225 for assured clear distance and temporary permit required.

Sharon C. Griffith-Weyandt, 49, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, was fined $150, required 20 hours community service and credited with a day in jail for disorderly conduct for creating a disturbance at her home after drinking on Dec. 1.

A Feb. 10 pretrial was set for Reginald D. Ellis, 29, Ohio Avenue, Salem, cited with driving under suspension.

A March 5 pretrial was set for Tyler Lengyel, 26, Willow Drive, Petersburg, cited with driving under suspension and improper or expired registration.

Christina R. Holley, 38, Spaite Drive, East Palestine, was credited with two days served in jail, sentenced to 13 days in jail, required 40 hours

community service and fined $210 for a stop sign violation, a seat belt violation and complicity to theft for waiting in the vehicle and then driving away after Erick W. Meredith allegedly jumped into her backseat on Sept. 22.

Lucinda Stacey Lefas, 40, Tomahawk Drive, Negley, was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from failure to yield.

Shauntez Demetrius Nicholson, 21, Meadow Avenue, Alliance, was fined $100 for possession of marijuana.

Richard R. Vecchio, 57, state Route 164, Lisbon, was fined $50 for open container. A Feb. 11 pretrial was set for Vecchio for a disorderly conduct charge for becoming irate with police and using foul language on Sunday.

A Feb. 27 pretrial was set for Alexis German Caban, 21, Youngstown, cited with driving under suspension.

A March 2 pretrial was set for Christopher Austin Alexander Asher, 22, Market Street, Salineville, cited with two counts of driving under FRA suspension and one count each of driving under suspension and expired license.

Edith M. Allgood, 48, Warren, was fined $250 for driving under suspension and speeding.

Kanan Omarov, 35, Brooklyn, N.Y., was fined $400 for failure to control and reckless operation amended from failure to stop after an accident.

A Jan. 23 pretrial was set for Scott D. Kaltenbach, 43,North Market Street, East Palestine, cited with possession of a drug abuse instrument for a syringe and possession of marijuana.

Rodney A. Grace Jr., 22, Struthers, was fined $400, credited with two days in jail, sentenced to an additional day in jail and required 40 hours community service for possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct amended from assault for striking Alisa Goff in the face while she was trying to break up a fight on Oct. 19.

Miranda McPherson, 30, last known address Latta Road, East Palestine, was credited with a day in jail, sentenced to an additional four days in jail and fined $400 for falsification and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia for a glass pipe on May 8 and giving police false information about a vehicle that had fled from police.

Hunter James Babb, 20, Sunset Drive, Lisbon, was fined $100 for possession of marijuana.

Eric L. Liber, 35, Middle Beaver Road, Lisbon, was fined $20 for failure to register a rental unit.
