POLICE REPORTS

COLUMBIANA

— Bobbie Anchondo, of East Palestine, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 7 at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday.

— James Price, of East Liverpool, was cited for failure to reinstate his license following a traffic stop on North Main Street at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday.

EAST PALESTINE

— Police were called to an East Clark Street residence where a girl assaulted her therapist at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday. The girl was arrested and transported to the county juvenile detention center.

— An officer initiated a theft investigation from a local business at 9:46 a.m. Tuesday. The investigation is pending.

— Police were dispatched to East Martin Street for a report of a residence being egged overnight at 3:43 p.m. Monday.

— Officers responded to a report that a woman was at a local business to speak with a former employee, who had a protection order against the woman at 3:35 p.m. Monday. The officer caught up with the woman on North Market Street, and she was pink slipped and transported to a local hospital. Charges are pending.

— A Wood Street resident reported that a boy slashed a tire on a vehicle parked in his driveway and ran off at 1:52 p.m. Monday. Police attempted to locate the boy, however he fled when police attempted to make contact at his residence.

— Betsy Theodore, 35, and Travis Mosti, 38, were charged with obstruction and transported to the county jail after lying to an officer about the identity of Mosti, who had a warrant out of Jefferson County at 7:36 p.m. Sunday.

— A North Sumner Street resident reported that someone was attempting to get into her home at 12:03 a.m. Sunday. With the help of the department K-9 unit, officers later located the suspect, Derrick Bruce, who was apprehended while hiding in an apartment complex. He was charged with two counts of criminal trespassing and breaking and entering stemming from two earlier incidents.

— Officers are investigating after a man paid for several pizzas at Pizza Hut with counterfeit money at 6:04 p.m. Saturday. Officers expect that there will be charges filed in the matter.

— An officer was dispatched to a Lyons Avenue residence on the report of a woman causing a problem at the residence at 4:06 p.m. Feb. 7. An officer spoke at length with the woman, who has learning disabilities, and the matter was resolved.

SALEM

— Officers responded to a 600 block East Ninth Street home at 8:48 a.m. Wednesday where a resident reported a male she had let in had headbutted her during an argument. She said she did not want to press charges and just wanted the man not to return.

— A male individual reported on station at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday he had been staying with some people on East Pershing Street and they kicked him out. He said they also tore the envelope of a letter addressed to him. The man was advised he did not appear to reside at the home and the residents had the right to ask him to leave.

— An officer responded to a 100 block North Lincoln Avenue business at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a legally parked vehicle that had been struck by a trailer attached to another vehicle whose driver was backing up then left the scene.

— An officer responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a male individual yelling loudly with no one around. The officer spoke with the person in question and found he was talking on a phone. He was advised to speak quieter when in public.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Continental Drive at 6:11 p.m. Wednesday to check the welfare of a male individual who had made threats to harm himself. Officers located the man, who denied making the threats, and determined he was no danger to himself and others.

— Kevin Anthony Silva II, 33, Continental Drive, Salem, was cited for OVI following a traffic stop in the 1000 block of East State Street at 7:44 p.m. Wednesday.

— Officers responded to the area of Southeast Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue at 7:56 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a smoking transformer. The officers were unable to find the transformer in question and left when the fire department arrived.

— An officer responded to a 200 block Vine Avenue home at 9:59 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a 17-year-old female who had run away. Officers had been at the home earlier that night when the teen made comments of being unhappy with the living arrangements. The teen was found in the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue and returned home where a relative picked her up for the night.

— Jacob RL Paulin, 18, Chestnut Grove Road, Salem, was cited for possession of marijuana paraphernalia following a traffic stop at South Lincoln Avenue and Franklin Street at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday in which he was a passenger.

— Officers responded to a 100 block West Third Street home at 2:08 a.m. Thursday where a woman reported a man she knows assaulted her, but she could not remember any details from the incident. She complained of several injuries but declined medical treatment.

PERRY TWP.

— An officer responded to the area of state Route 45 and Pine Lake Road at 1:48 p.m. Monday in reference to a male walking north who said he was trying to get a ride to Warren. The man said he would try to call someone on his phone.

— An officer responded to the area of U.S. Route 62/45 and Benton Road at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a reckless operator and found the driver was not intoxicated but had their pupils dilated a doctor’s appointment. The driver parked at a nearby business and the officer provided a ride home.

— An officer spoke with a Grant Avenue resident at 6:18 p.m. Wednesday who reported he had given his friend equipment for a guitar to try out and the friend would not give it back. The friend said he had paid for the equipment and would return if the complainant refunded his money. They were both advised the matter is civil.

— An officer responded to Blossom nursing home at 10:46 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a person who was not allowed to be there. The person in question claimed they had been told they could return, but the officer was unable to contact management to confirm it. The person was told they would have to leave until staff members were informed of the change.

LEETONIA

— An officer responded to a West Main Street, Washingtonville, home at 2:38 a.m. Feb. 8 to assist the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office on a 911 call. The officers determined juveniles had made the call and warned them against their actions.

— An officer responded to a Wilson Street home at 12:05 p.m. Feb. 9 in reference to a breaking and entering in which items had been taken. The victims stated they just wanted a report on file.

— An officer responded to a High Street home at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday to assist Leetonia EMS on a medical call in which a male was transported to the Salem hospital.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

— Dennis A. Rhodes, 49, Lisbon Road, Canfield, was cited for failure to obey traffic control devices following a two-vehicle crash on state Route 165 at U.S. Route 62 at 6:39 p.m. Jan. 28 in which he was eastbound and traveled through a red light, striking a southbound vehicle driven by Taylor D. Kastenhuber, 27, East Third Street, Salem. No injuries were reported.

— Susan L. Douglass, 63, Sharp Street, Salem, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in the 7000 block of Salem Unity Road at 10:02 a.m. Jan. 29 in which she was eastbound and lost control, traveling off the right side of the roadway and striking a mailbox and culvert before coming to rest in a field. She was transported by Green Township EMS to Salem hospital with minor injuries.

— Marjorie J. Hayes, 69, North 15th Street, Sebring, was cited for failure to yield following a two-vehicle crash on South Pricetown Road at Garfield Road at 2:25 p.m. Jan. 31 in which she was eastbound and failed to yield at the stop sign, pulling into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Stefanie M. Hoopes, 46, Alliance. No injuries were reported.

— Paige Marcella Seeley, 21, Ravenna, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at state Route 534 at 1:05 a.m. Feb. 7.

— Andrew Michael Guerrieri, 22, Girard, was charged with OVI, failure to control, open container and possession of marijuana following a one-vehicle crash in the 9000 block of Youngstown Salem Road at 3:42 a.m. Sunday in which he was southbound and lost control, traveling off the right side of the roadway and through a fence before coming to rest. Guerrieri refused medical treatment.
