MUNICIPAL COURT

LISBON – In county Municipal Court, April 2 preliminary and pretrial hearings were set for James A. Huntting, 36, Trentvale Street, East Liverpool, charged with aggravated arson, OVI third offense and reckless operation. Huntting is accused of pouring accelerant onto a porch and setting a fire at a Clark Avenue, Wellsville, home late at night on Feb. 6.

Court documents claim Huntting and the homeowner, Chase Osborn, had argued earlier in the day and Huntting had been kicked out of the home. Osborn had told police he smelled smoke inside his home and found both the front porch and door on fire, which he was able to extinguish on his own. A neighbor, Fred Joy, had video footage, which reportedly identified Huntting as the person who set the fire. Osborn then reported what happened to police.

An April 2 pretrial was set for additional charges filed against Joshua C. Kersey, 37, Sixth Street, Wellsville, now charged with obstructing official business, drug abuse instruments and illegal use of drug paraphernalia. When sheriff’s deputies and Wellsville police approached his home with a warrant on Wednesday, Kersey is accused of fleeing and having a burnt spoon and paper folds with drug residue in his pocket.

An April 2 pretrial was set for Jaquon Montay Rozier, 24, Youngstown, cited with furnishing false information, two counts of driving under suspension, failure to display a valid sticker, distracted driving, left of center and two counts of drug paraphernalia for allegedly being caught with digital scale with white powder residue in both February and April of 2019.
