Salem man gets 4-year sentence for assault on child

LISBON — Nicholas Franklin, 22, Monroe Street, Salem, was sentenced in Common Pleas Court to four years in prison for endangering children and felonious assault for physically harming a 3-year-old child on March 11, 2019. According to the prosecutor’s office, the child received burn-related injuries due to Franklin’s actions. Franklin was facing up to eight years in prison for the two second-degree felony charges he was facing. He was credited with 297 days served.

Jeffrey S. Sloan, 51, North Middle Street, Columbiana, was sentenced to 10 days in jail and placed on three years community control for possession of cocaine. Sloan had less than five grams of cocaine on Feb. 12, 2019.

Robert J. Davis III, 34, Morris Street, Lisbon, had his community control dishonorably terminated and he was sentenced to six months in prison for possession of drugs for hydrocodone on July 2, 2017.
