HIGHWAY PATROL

— Mariah A. Betteridge, 27, of East Liverpool, was cited for assured cleared distance after she drove into the rear of a vehicle in front of her operated by McKenna M. Boals, 24, of Salineville, which in turn struck the vehicle in front of her, operated by Catherine J. Wallace, 21, of Lisbon. The chain-reaction accident occurred in a construction site on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 1:49 p.m. Monday. Betteridge and Boals, along with one of Betteridge’s passengers, were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Betteridge was also cited for not wearing her seat belt.

— Luz M. Santiago, 43, of Salem, was cited for failure to control after going off the right side of the road striking a mail box, utility pole and culvert, while driving on Rochester Road in Knox Township at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday. Santiago was looking at the GPS on her phone when the accident occurred.

— Alexis B. Timmons, 18, Dyke Road, Middleton Township, was taken to an area hospital with suspected serious injuries after wrecking in a golf cart while driving on Dyke Road at 6:53 p.m. July 4. Timmons was partially trapped under the golf cart, which had to be lifted off her. Her passenger, Shannon Tate, suffered road rash but declined medical treatment. They were heading to the beach at Lake Tomhawk when Timmons wrecked.

— James K. Burgess, 57, of Lisbon, was cited for OVI and failure to yield after he went off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail and ended up partially off a bridge while driving on St. Jacob-Logtown Road in Center Township at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday.
