— A loud noise described possibly as a gun shot was reported at 12:31 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of East Pidgeon Road. Police were unable to locate anything. An officer spoke with the manager of Circle K on South Lincoln Avenue to ask about any loud noises. She was cleaning the pumps and heard nothing.
— Township officers at 12:08 a.m. Wednesday assisted the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office in trying to locate a possible suicidal female whose phone pinged within a 2-mile radius of Berger Electric. Officers were told she may have been picked up or was walking on the road on Salem Alliance Road, but she was not located.
— Police were called at 11 p.m. Tuesday to the 1200 block of East 11th Street to assist Salem officers with multiple people involved in a domestic. A township officer stood by with a female suspect while Salem Police investigated.
— Possible illegal dumping was reported at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday on Pidgeon Road at Newgarden. Police learned the property owner gave permission for the brush to be placed on her property.
— An officer responded to a Main Street home at 4:25 July 12 to perform a welfare check on the resident who has stage 4 cancer after a woman emailed a concern that she had not heard from him. The officer knocked at the door numerous times with no response, but found no signs of distress.
— An officer responded to a 100 block Chestnut Street home at 11:07 a.m. Wednesday where the resident reported his front storm door window had been broken by an apparent projectile. The officer could not determine what hit the window or find an object near by that could have caused the damage.
— A Walnut Street resident reported at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday her ex-boyfriend was harassing her and her new boyfriend through phone calls and text messages despite being told to stop contact. The ex-boyfriend reported the harassment to the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. An officer contacted the ex-boyfriend and he agreed to stop contact with the complainants.
