LISBON — In county Municipal Court, John K. Olenik, 53, state Route 172, Minerva, was bound over to the grand jury on charges of domestic violence and two counts of felonious assault after he waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Olenik was involved in an argument with Heather Olenik, which led to him allegedly wrestling with her, pinning her down and pulling her hair before striking her twice on the head on Oct. 1. Then Olenik allegedly pointed a black handgun at her, when she had kicked open the bedroom door to return to retrieve her keys. He reportedly then put the gun away, picked up a fixed blade knife and threatened to stab her if she came near him.
A Nov. 24 pretrial was set for Shawn R. Haines, 32, Benton Road, Salem, charged with assault and disorderly conduct. Haines allegedly was involved in a fight with several other patrons of the Tipsy Cow in Leetonia on Oct. 6, accused of punching both Martha Flory and Gregory Nati in the face.
Shane Douglas Andrews, 29, West Main Street, Alliance, was sentenced to three days in jail, fined $700, had his license suspended for a year and required 40 hours community service for material on the roadway, failure to control and failure to stop after an accident.
Ryan Mathew Hoschar, 23, Boston Street, Washingtonville, was sentenced to an additional 41 days in jail while credited with four days already served in jail and fined $300 for possession of drug abuse instrument, drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct for crawling through an open window of the home of Carley Williams on Aug. 26. The drug-related charges are for allegedly having a syringe in his pocket, a black box of suspected heroin and a cut green straw on Aug. 14.
A Nov. 5 pretrial was set for Michael J. Mick, 43, North Walnut Street, East Palestine, cited with discarding litter for allegedly depositing one white and one red trash bag full of household trash into the recycling bins on Walnut Street on Sept. 16.
Joseph A. Long, 43, East Third Street, Salem, was fined $75 for disorderly conduct for being involved in a fight in Salem on Sept. 2.
