LISBON — Russell Morckel, 54, Carrollton, had his case bound over to the grand jury after appearing for a preliminary hearing in county Municipal Court for failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony.
A bond of $20,000 cash or surety was continued. Morckel allegedly failed to stop for Columbiana police attempting a traffic stop on Sept. 14 and led them on a pursuit which continued into the village of Leetonia. The pursuit was terminated and the driver later found and identified at his residence by Carroll County sheriff’s deputies.
A pretrial was set Dec. 10 for Shannon Cunning, 44, Spruce Street, Columbiana, for assault, obstructing official business and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, with bond set at $5,000 cash or surety. She was ordered to have no contact with Shane Linden, the alleged victim from the assault case. She’s accused of punching him in the face on Oct. 29 at a Crestview Road property, Leetonia. The other two charges stemmed from a Dec. 3 traffic stop in Perry Township when she allegedly gave police a false name and date of birth and possessed a glass narcotics pipe with white residue and burnt ends.
