SALEM

— Police responded to a dog at large complaint at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Franklin Avenue where a man said he had the dog in his custody and wanted an officer with him when he returned the dog to his neighbor. Officers stood by while the dog was returned to the owner.

— A man came to the station at 12:54 a.m. Tuesday regarding a welfare check on his daughter who resides in East Liverpool. He said he received a strange message from her a couple hours prior to contacting police and was worried about her. East Liverpool officers were advised of the situation. Salem officers eventually made contact with her over the phone and she said she was ok.

— A caller from a business in the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue reported at 11:46 p.m. Monday that an employee stole $500 worth of merchandise. Security footage and other evidence will be obtained for possible charges. The alleged theft is under investigation.

— Police responded at 10:47 p.m. Monday to a medical call in the 1200 block of East Fourth Street. KLG transported the person to Salem Regional Medical Center.

— A well-being check was requested at 8:52 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue by an out-of-state caller who reported the homeowner sent text messages regarding harming himself with a firearm. Police spoke to the homeowner who said the complaint was false.

— Police were called at 8:41 p.m. Monday to the 200 block of Vine Avenue for a neighbor dispute, but upon arrival, the caller said the other person had left.

— Police, fire department medics and EMT ambulance responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 8:34 p.m. Monday for a medical involving an unresponsive male. The male was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center.

— Suspicious activity/persons were reported at 4:16 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of East Perry Street where a man said he believed persons known to him had been running around on the roof of his residence. He was told his options.

— While police were doing a followup for another report at 12:35 p.m. Monday, a woman in the 700 block of East Third Street reported a large sum of money taken from her residence from a locked drawer. The alleged theft is under investigation.

— An unruly juvenile was reported at 11:03 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of East Third Street. The juvenile told officers he was upset because he did not like the household rules. He was told he lives at his dad’s house and has to follow his rules.

— A young juvenile was reported alone outside in the 500 block of East Eighth Street at 10:48 a.m. Monday. Officers located the juvenile but couldn’t locate the parents so Children Services was contacted and a representative met police at the station, where the child was taken. A family member responded to the station. Children Services will further review.

— Police responded for a well-being check at 10:40 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of North Lundy Avenue where a woman advised she made threats of self-harm to a family member. Fire department medics and EMT ambulance arrived so she could be transported to a hospital for evaluation.

— Police responded at 10:06 a.m. Monday to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue for a 911 hangup call. The homeowner said he didn’t call and everything was ok.

— A 911 hangup call was reported at 9:55 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of Vine Avenue. Police arrived and a resident requested a male and female removed, who were then identified and asked to leave. The report said the resident appeared to be under the influence, but denied it. The male and female left without incident.

— Police were asked at 9:03 a.m. Monday to check the well-being of a person in the 500 block of Continental Drive. The person said he dialed the wrong number and everything was fine.

LISBON

— Michael D. Buzulencia, 62, of Warren, was cited for OVI and assured cleared distance after he struck a vehicle driven by Tina M. Williams, 61, Rose Drive Apartments, Lisbon, on Jackson Street at 5:29 p.m. Friday.

— An East Washington Street woman reported Monday a caller told the woman her social security number (SSN) and credit card were being used in Texas for drugs and money laundering. The caller asked her for the last four digits of her SSN and she complied but then she hung up when he asked for her bank account numbers.

— A woman reported passing by the downtown food distribution box in the square on Saturday and when she went by the next day it was empty. The woman identified a possible suspect and police questioned him, but he said he only took a few items.

— A Pendleton Street woman reported Monday a caller identifying himself as a law enforcement officer said a rental car in her name was found in Texas with cocaine in it. The caller told her she needed to pay $5,000 in gift cards or face going to prison for six months. The woman then went to Lowe’s and purchased $5,000 in gift cards before her fiance told her to call police, and the responding officer told her this was a scam. While she was talking to the officer she received a voice mail from the fake law enforcement officer telling her to send the gift cards and not tell anyone, and she said the call came from the Lisbon police line. The officer said that was impossible because he was the only officer on duty.

— A man who lives at Greentree Place reported Sunday his PlayStation 4 was missing after either he left it on his front porch, in his vehicle or on the vehicle roof.
