Man pleads guilty to abduction

LISBON — Joah T. Leffler, 37, Sherwood Road, Wellsville, pleaded guilty in Common Pleas Court to abduction, domestic violence, intimidation of an attorney, victim or witness in a criminal case and having weapons while under disability. Leffler is facing up to eight years in prison and a $26,000 fine. Sentencing is set for Feb. 1.

On June 19, 2020, Tiffany Allen, had two black eyes and numerous bruises and abrasions on her body after she reportedly was assaulted numerous times by Leffler between June 18 and June 19, during which he used his hands, a belt, a plastic hose and a cell phone. Allen was reportedly 34 weeks pregnant with Leffler’s child at the time. Additionally, on June 26, he attempted to intimidate her to stop her from filing charges against him.

On Dec. 22, 2019, Leffler allegedly had a Mossberg 12-guage shotgun with ammunition and a Romarm WASR-10 7.62 rifle with a loaded magazine when he has previous convictions of violence from 2008.

Paul F. Barnett, 54, Garfield Avenue, Alliance, stipulated to violating the terms of his community control, which has now been dishonorably terminated. Barnett was sentenced to six months in prison for the charges of aggravated possession of drugs and possession of heroin for having both fentanyl and heroin on April 27, 2018.
