— Police were flagged down at 11:14 p.m. Tuesday by a male in a parking lot on North Ellsworth Avenue who provided additional information about his previously reported stolen homemade trailer.

— An officer traveling west on West Wilson Street near the 200 block at 10:57 p.m. Tuesday saw a male on a bicycle come out of an alley almost into his lane of travel. The bicycle did not have lights on the front or back and the rider was identified and told about bicycle regulations for riding at night, then sent home.

— Mark Kalin, 63, of North Canton, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence after a single-vehicle accident at 9:59 p.m. Tuesday. Kalin reportedly lost control of his westbound vehicle on West Second Street and struck a utility pole in the 200 block. He refused medical attention and police found he was impaired. He was taken to the station to await a ride home.

— A domestic dispute was reported at 9:34 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West 10th Street where officers were advised an argument began after a minor disagreement. Officers assisted with a compromise.

— Police responded at 7:41 p.m. Tuesday to Salem Regional Medical Center for a combative patient. Officers made contact and the person calmed down.

— Daniel Reed, 33, of Lisbon, was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT after suffering a medical issue while driving north on North Lincoln Avenue and striking a utility pole at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday, resulting in front airbag deployment. He suffered minor injuries. No citation was issued.

— A caller at 4:47 p.m. Tuesday reported hearing gunshots in the 2100 block of Pearce Circle. Police determined they came from the Perry Township area.

— Police were called twice for drug paraphernalia Tuesday, once at 4:02 p.m. in the 400 block of North Madison Avenue and once at 11:48 a.m. in the 100 block of West State Street. Both times the items were disposed of properly by officers.

— A man on West Wilson Street reported at 2:12 p.m. Tuesday that he let two people stay at his residence and they were refusing to leave. They said they were given permission to move in. The man was told due to the amount of time that had passed, he would have to evict them.

— A domestic was reported at 12:56 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of South Union Avenue where a woman said she was assaulted by her father after they had an argument and he grabbed her by the face several times to stop her from leaving. The father refused to answer the door and she had visible injury to her eye. Charges of domestic violence will be filed through Columbiana County Municipal Court.

— A caller on East Fifth Street at 9:47 a.m. Tuesday reported vehicles parked in an alley preventing access. The vehicle owner said he would move them.

— A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 2200 block of East State Street at 6:43 a.m. Tuesday. Police located the vehicle, but nothing appeared suspicious.


— Police were called to a domestic at 12:51 a.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Prospect Street where a woman said her boyfriend assaulted her. Physical injuries were observed to her face and arms and she was transported by KLG to the hospital for treatment. The boyfriend could not be located. The incident is under investigation.

— Vladmir Yuchuk, 52, of California, was cited for improper backing after the northbound semi truck he was driving backed into the front of a northbound vehicle driven by Kelli Miller, 52, of Salem on South Lincoln Avenue in the 1700 block at 6:18 p.m. Tuesday. Yuchuk was attempting to turn left into the truck entrance at Fresh Mark and started backing up after missing the drive.

— Police responded at 3:44 p.m. Tuesday to a medical call in the 1100 block of Prospect Street where a man was accidentally cut with a knife that fell out of a cabinet. Township fire department first responders and KLG were on the scene.

— Charles Bandy, 76, of Winona, was cited for failure to yield left turn after the rear trailer of his vehicle struck the rear tail light assembly on a vehicle driven by Robin Koehn, 46, of Minerva, who was stopped at the traffic light. Bandy was turning into the parking lot at Circle K South on South Lincoln Avenue at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

— A man who lives next door to the Church at the Center in the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday that he read the recent article in the newspaper about the noise issue and wanted to explain that the music is so loud that it vibrates the windows in his house. He said he had tried to talk to someone at the church but he feels he was ignored because of certain people who attend the church.


–Officers were dispatched to a Firestone Avenue residence at 4:32 p.m. Tuesday to intervene a dispute during a child custody exchange.


–An officer was dispatched to an East Taggart Street residence at 5:01 p.m. Tuesday on the report of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The officer located the vehicle and found that they were looking for a business and there was no issue.
