SHERIFF’S OFFICE

— A Steubenville Pike, Wayne Township, woman reported at 4:42 a.m. Tuesday a vehicle was parked in the driveway next to her home. However, she called back before deputies arrived to report she had mistaken a candle light reflecting in the window for a vehicle.

— A Butler Grant Road, Butler Township, man reported two different Visa credit cards came to his home under different names. He contacted the company issuing the cards and was told to file a report with his local law enforcement.

— A man owning a large building on Old state Route 14, Fairfield Township, reported at 9:36 a.m. Monday a door had been removed and someone may have entered the building. Nothing was missing.

— A 16 School Road, Yellow Creek Township, man reported at 8:43 a.m. Monday he and his live-in partner had a domestic dispute. She had already left before deputies arrived. He claimed they are going back to New Jersey for a family funeral and an argument had ensued. He said she had back handed him and when he got out of the car to go back inside, she reportedly attempted to hit him with the car. He did not wish to file criminal charges.

— A third party reported a domestic dispute at a Millrock Road, Middleton Township, home at 10:41 a.m. Monday. Deputies spoke to the woman living there who reported she and her boyfriend were having issues and she was concerned she and her children were in danger. While she was speaking with deputies, he was in the process of moving his belongings out of the house and was argumentative with deputies. She said he had not made any physical threats toward them on that day.

— A state Route 7, Fairfield township, man reported at 2 p.m. Monday someone used his information to open up an account with U.S. Bank. He contacted the bank, which informed him someone had used his name, Social Security number to open an account in an attempt to obtain unemployment benefits. A U.S. Bank debit card came in the mail, which alerted the man of the fraud.

— While doing routine checks in the area, deputies found a door wide open on the front of the Guilford Fire Department at 12:14 a.m. Thursday. There was no signs the door had been forced open or that anyone tampered with the equipment. It did not appear anything was missing and the chief was notified. Deputies secured the door.

— A man was reported knocking at a home on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 2 a.m. Thursday. He was gone when deputies arrived and the resident of told deputies the man claimed he had broke down in Unity and wanted to know if he could get some water. He also claimed he was cold. When the resident asked where the man was trying to get to, he said he did not know, so the resident went back inside and called deputies. Deputies checked the area and he was eventually found at the 7 and 14 Truck Stop, where deputies and Columbiana police spoke to him.
