— Suspicious activity was reported at 11:46 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of West Perry Street. Officers checked the area and cleared.

— An officer on the way to the Columbiana County jail at 10:35 p.m. Thursday saw a vehicle in front of the marked cruiser travel left of center several times and almost strike another vehicle in the opposite lane. For public safety, the vehicle was stopped and the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived and handled the stop.

— A caller at 7:56 p.m. Thursday requested a welfare check in the 400 block of West Fifth Street. The person was contacted and found to be ok.

— Police made two arrests during a traffic stop at 4:19 p.m. Thursday in the city after finding the plates fictitious, the driver suspended and the passenger with an active warrant. K-9 Simon indicated to the presence of a narcotic odor during the stop and contraband was found. The passenger, Tasha Higgins, 36, of 42851 state Route 518, Lisbon, was taken into custody on the warrant for theft and turned over to a deputy. The driver, Raymond Edwards, 37, also of 42851 state Route 518, Lisbon, was cited for speeding, fictitious plates, driving under suspension and drug paraphernalia and taken to jail. Additional charges may be pending lab results.

— Police responded at 3:47 p.m. Thursday to the 900 block of West Wilson Street for a juvenile problem, speaking with the children involved and their parents. Police determined it was an ongoing problem between the children. The parents were advised of options for dealing with the situation. The juvenile officer will be consulted.

— A spokesman from Salem Propane, 445 Prospect St., reported at 11:49 a.m. Thursday that someone unknown removed the catalytic converters from two of the company vehicles parked in the lot.

— Officers were asked at 11:31 a.m. Thursday to check the welfare of a city resident in the 900 block of East Third Street. She said she was fine.

— A disturbance was reported at 10:41 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Continental between a brother and juvenile sister, allegedly over a dog the sister brought over. Stories were conflicting over exactly what happened. The sister left after a parent came to pick her up. Nothing physical occurred.

— A noise complaint was reported at 6:50 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of West State Street. Police spoke with construction personnel about the complaint and provided a copy of the city ordinance. The manager said they would take care of the problem.


— Officers spoke with a 46000 block Crestview Road resident regarding a theft complaint at 12:29 p.m. Feb. 22.

— An officer assisted East Palestine police on a suspicious person complaint in the 300 block of Park Avenue, East Palestine, at 9:34 p.m. Feb. 22.

— Officers responded to the 3200 block of Creek Road at 2:24 p.m. Feb. 24 where a motorist had struck a mailbox. The driver made arrangements with the owner to replace the mailbox.

— A 3000 block Silliman Street resident reported at 3:49 p.m. Tuesday her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend had stolen mail from her mailbox.

— Officers responded to state Route 46 at noon Thursday in reference to road work being done near the crest of a hill with no traffic control.


— An attempted theft on state Route 14 was reported at 9:42 a.m. Thursday.

— An officer responded to a residence at Park Court for a welfare check in reference to truancy at 10:52 a.m. Thursday.
