SALEM

–A fight was reported at 2:40 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Broadway Avenue.

–The operator of a motorcycle was given a verbal warning at 1:53 a.m. Sunday in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and State Street for following too close.

–A probable cause search was conducted at 2:28 a.m. Sunday on a vehicle in the area of 200 block of West State Street, after K9 Argo indicated the presence of narcotics during an open air sniff of a vehicle stopped for a load violation. Prior to concluding the search, officers had to clear for an emergency call.

–A loud music complaint was reported at 1:34 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Walnut Street.

–Participants involved in a family dispute were advised at 10:23 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue that potentially false statements could result in civil action if not stopped.

–An officer recovered a butcher knife from a yard at 4:08 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of North Lincoln Avenue.

–A strong odor of natural gas was detected at 12:25 p.m. Saturday in the area of Waterworth Park duck pond.

–Grant D. Adams, of South Lincoln Avenue, was cited at 2:29 p.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of East State Street on physical control charges, after allegedly performing poorly on field sobriety tests. His breath test results were not reported; however, the narrative does read that he tested over the prohibited amount of alcohol.

–Officers were dispatched at noon Saturday in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue to an unknown male lying in a yard.

–A two-vehicle crash was reported at 12:48 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue between Richard Pendergast of Lake Milton, who allegedly struck a parked car belonging to Joe Hamilton. No citations were issued.

–Police investigated a suspicious person call at 10:53 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue.

–A traffic signal malfunction was reported at 11:41 a.m. Saturday in the area of Roosevelt Avenue and East State Street.

–An unidentified subject was stopped at 1:17 a.m. Saturday in the area of Franklin and Ellsworth avenues for an equipment violation. He was given a verbal warning, after K9 Argo indicated for the presence of a narcotic odor during an open air sniff.

–A custody dispute was reported at 2:06 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard.

–A suspicious person was reported at 2:53 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of East 12th Street. Upon contact, police learned that the highly intoxicated male, who had been trying to open the back door of the residence, thought he was entering his own nearby home.
