MUNICIPAL COURT

LISBON — An Aug. 5 preliminary/pretrial hearing was set in Columbiana County Municipal Court for Luke Worden, 40, Independence Square, Wellsville, for charges of domestic violence and criminal damaging related to an alleged domestic that occurred Wednesday.

Worden appeared for his initial hearing Friday for the fourth-degree felony charge, along with arraignment on the misdemeanor damaging count.

During an argument at Independence Square with the mother of his children, he allegedly busted a window in the kitchen from outside, then kicked in the back door and entered the residence, slamming the woman to the ground, pulling her hair and punching her in the back.

Sentencing was set for Aug. 16 for Thomas Andew Vescera, 60, Hermitage, Pa., after he pleaded no contest and was found guilty of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Vescera traveled to East Palestine on Thursday after arranging a meeting for sexual activity in exchange for money in answer to an ad posted online by a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent. He was taken into custody at the designated meeting place, in possession of an alleged sexual enhancement pill to use with the alleged “female” and had a cell phone he used to make the arrangements.

Shane Kantsis, 28, Carbon Hill Road, East Palestine, was fined $250 for driving under suspension and unsafe vehicle.

Michelle Green, 31, Edgewood Drive, Salem, was fined $50 for dog at large.

Michael Walters, 51, Boardman, was fined $150 for an equipment violation, amended from speeding.

Marcus Gutierrez, 42, Sumner Street, East Palestine, was fined $100 for possession of a marijuana pipe.

A pretrial was set Oct. 4 for Brook Freeland, 33, state Route 558, New Waterford, who pleaded innocent to speeding for allegedly going 58 mph in a 35-mph zone in East Palestine.

Alexander Stewart, 32, Harding Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for speeding.

A pretrial was set Sept. 16 for David Clarkson III, 38, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, for domestic violence. He was to have no contact with the victim. The charge stems from an incident June 20 in Columbiana after an argument with a woman who allegedly came out swinging and hitting him in the face and body and tried to gain access to a vehicle. A video showed Clarkson physically wrap his arms around the victim’s neck and upper body and forcefully remove her from the driver’s side of the vehicle and drag her across the yard.

A pretrial was set Sept. 21 for Eddie Solivan, 39, West Main Street, Washingtonville, after he pleaded innocent to operating a vehicle under the influence and assured clear distance ahead.

An Oct. 5 pretrial was set for Steven Baddeley Jr., 36, Spillway Road, Lisbon, for charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension and failure to control.

Shawn Morris, 35, West Pershing Street, Salem, was fined $200 for two counts of disorderly conduct, both relating to fights occurring in Salem, one on July 18 and one on Sept. 18, 2016.
