HIGHWAY PATROL

— Casey Howdershelt, 25, East Liverpool, was cited for failure to control and no seat belt after her southbound vehicle ran off of state Route 154 at 11:55 p.m. Saturday in Elkrun Township, struck a guardrail, re-entered the road and ran off the side again into a ditch. Howdershelt left the scene but was not hurt and said she tried to swerve to avoid a deer in the road. There was no evidence of a deer, the patrol said.

— Emory White, 64, Midland, Pa., was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and failure to control after his southbound vehicle traveled off of state Route 7 in Middleton Township and struck a ditch and a sign at 1:07 a.m. Friday. A passenger was also under the influence. Both were picked up by a friend.

— Louis Reynolds, 35, Silliman Street, New Waterford, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence after his eastbound vehicle ran off of Crestview Road in Fairfield Township at 9:10 p.m. Sept. 22, striking a culvert, overturning and then striking a utility box and pole.

— Michael Scott Joseph Ramirez, 22, Youngstown was cited for failure to control after his northbound vehicle went off of state Route 11 in Fairfield Township and struck a guardrail before rolling over to final rest at 5:16 p.m. Sept. 22. Leetonia Police and Fire/EMS responded, but Ramirez refused medical assistance.

— Christopher David Yoder, 36, Georgetown Road, Salem, was cited for failure to control and no seat belt after his vehicle drove off of state Route 164 in Wayne Township, striking an embankment and traffic sign at 4:32 p.m. Sept. 20.

— Susan Hopton, 70, Yates Road, Salem, was cited for left of center and distracted driving after turning her vehicle left from state Route 344 onto Hazel Street in Leetonia at 3:16 p.m. Sept. 20, traveling left of center and striking a vehicle driven by Heather Deleon, 40, Market Street, Columbiana, who was at the stop sign on Hazel Street. No injuries were reported. Hopton said she was using the radio at the time.

— No injuries were reported after a hit/skip at 4:37 p.m. Sept.18 on Lisbon Road in Salem Township. A northbound vehicle driven by Alan Fast, 64, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was struck from behind by another northbound vehicle described as a red van driven by a woman. The van continued northbound, leaving the scene and was not found. The Fast vehicle sustained minor damage.
