Perry fire chief looking for recruits
SALEM — Perry Township Fire Chief Doug Messimer is looking for some new recruits.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter for the township should contact the chief at 330-277-9280 or show up to apply during one of the weekly training sessions held Thursday evenings at the north station on North Ellsworth Avenue.
Successful applicants will be set up for training by the department. The volunteer department currently has 18 firefighters but Messimer said they need more.
