SALEM REPORTS

— Police were called at 2:10 a.m. Monday to Salem Regional Medical Center for a combative patient who was breaking policies by filming within the hospital and acting disorderly. He agreed to release his personal belongings to his father.

— Officers at 12:40 a.m. Monday assisted Goshen Township police, who were attempting to locate a distraught female from their jurisdiction. Officers checked a few locations, but did not find her.

— A Cleveland Street man at 8:47 p.m. Sunday reported his bicycle stolen off of his front porch in the past few days. He thought he knew who took the bike but that the suspect may have painted it a different color. Officers were attempting to find the suspect.

— Officers and firefighters responded at 7:33 p.m. Sunday to the 100 block of West Pershing Street for a fire. A person was working on an engine and added gasoline to it which caught fire. The fire department put it out.

— A resident on Fairview Avenue at 6:51 p.m. Sunday reported a neighbor feeding several cats that have in turn been coming onto his property. The neighbor was contacted and told about city ordinance. They said they have been trying to find homes for the animals and an unknown person dropped off a box of kittens, too. They said they’ve been in contact with Angels for Animals but haven’t heard back from them.

— An East Fifth Street resident reported at 3:37 p.m. Sunday that about 30 minutes earlier, a younger male wearing a gray shirt, gray shorts, higher boots and a brown hat walked past his 700 block residence carrying two mufflers. The male then dropped the mufflers in front of the residence and continued walking. Officers found two mufflers belonging to an BMW that appeared to have been cut off. The male wasn’t found. The mufflers were taken to the police station.

— A man in the 800 block of East Third Street reported at 3:26 p.m. Sunday that his son’s bicycle was stolen from the 400 block of East Second Street. Police were able to find the bike on West State Street and returned it.

— A caller at 12:31 p.m. Sunday reported a man in red shorts and no shirt carrying a baseball bat who had several knives in his waistband in the 500 block of East Pershing Street. Police located the known man on South Lundy. He was legally carrying the items and sent on his way.

— A caller at 12:08 p.m. Sunday reported a knife laying on the curb lawn in the 600 block of East Pershing Street. An officer retrieved the large fixed blade knife.

— Police responded to Granite Avenue at 11:42 a.m. Sunday to remove a person, but the person had already left.

— Two people burning wood and a tree stump received a warning for open burning after a complaint was filed at 11 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Ohio Avenue. They were advised of open burning laws and the fire department put out the fire.

— A woman in the 700 block of West Wilson Street reported at 8:31 a.m. Sunday hat her grandson wasn’t listening. He was told to listen to her.

— A Cleveland Street man reported at 7:57 a.m. Sunday that a known female called him and there’s a no contact order in placed. She admitted to calling him, but said he called her the night before. The report will be forwarded to the court.

— Graffiti in black marker was found under the Cranmer bridge off of Pennsylvania Avenue at 7:49 a.m. Sunday.

— An intoxicated female called 911 for a ride at 1:53 a.m. Sunday from the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue, but when officers arrived after a priority call, the place was closed with no one around.

— Officers at 1:37 a.m. Sunday saw a fight in the 500 block of South Broadway. The people involved did not want to press charges.

— A suspicious vehicle was reported at 1:20 a.m. Sunday on Meadowview Drive, but the vehicle was legally parked with nothing suspicious found.

— A man at 11:29 p.m. Saturday reported he was struck in the face by an unknown person at the Foundry. He didn’t want to press charges and was given a ride home.

— A man at 11:20 p.m. Saturday reported his bicycle stolen from the Domino’s parking lot on North Lincoln Avenue.

— An intoxicated person was reported at 11:03 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Franklin yelling on his front porch. He was not found.

— A domestic was reported at 8:41 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of North Lincoln Avenue, but a woman at the residence said all was fine and there was no arguing or fighting.

— A property dispute was reported at 8:19 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue where a woman said her ex came and took their juvenile daughter’s cell phone. She said she pays the service bill and her ex-mother-in-law bought the physical phone. The man told police he won’t return the phone to his daughter because she’s grounded, but that he would give it to his mother. She was told to call police when she receives it.

— A shoplifter was reported at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at Walmart on East State Street when a man at the self checkout failed to scan a Halloween outfit and Halloween decoration totaling $48. Theft charges are pending.

— A woman in the 700 block of North Lincoln Avenue reported at 6:38 p.m. Saturday that the neighbors have been threatening and yelling at her from their porch. The neighbor told police the woman started the confrontation and yelling while filming. Both parties were given warnings for disorderly conduct.
