— A caller reported an illegally parked car near Small Wonders Day Care in the first block of Walnut at 5:31 p.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, the officer couldn’t locate said vehicle.

— David Morgan, of Orlando, Fla., was cited at 11:17 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Pine Street for failure to obey traffic control devices after his tractor trailer was off the state route in violation of state law and had inadvertently took down some cable and phone lines.

— A Columbia Street resident reported at 10:18 p.m. Wednesday that he was having issues in his neighborhood with coyotes coming into his yard when his dogs and family are outside and was concerned about something happening to them. He was asking questions about shooting at the coyotes within the village limits, which he was advised is prohibited. Police then relayed that he should contact wildlife officer Jesse Janosik in the case of continued problems.

New Waterford

– Officers responded to the 3000 block of Court Street at 11:46 a.m. Wednesday for a natural death investigation and assisted the fire department, coroner’s office and funeral home.

– Officers responded to the 47000 block of South State Street at 6:33 p.m. Oct. 18 in reference to an unknown vehicle or person hitting a mailbox.

Salem

–Officers responded to the 800 block of Adams Avenue at 11:54 p.m. Friday to detain a man with charges for the Columbiana Police Department. Officers located the man, placed him into custody and transported him to the police department where Columbiana Officers took custody of him.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of East Fifth Street at 10+47 p.m. Friday for a dispute between live-in-partners. Contact was made with one side, but the caller had already left the area. Officers were advised the matter was a verbal dispute over work problems but nothing physical had occurred.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Georgetown Road at 9:46 p.m. Friday to assist Perry Township Officers with a one-vehicle accident.

–Officers responded to the 1700 block of East Third Street at 4:33 p.m. Friday for a report of criminal trespass. The caller provided video surveillance of a man entering the neighbor’s vehicle while it was parked in the rear driveway. The owner was not present at the time of the call and officers will follow-up with them.

–Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Sixth Street at 2:32 p.m. Friday for a reported hit-and-skip. The caller advised that while in the parking lot during school hours their vehicle had been struck and that when they spoke with the school resource officer to check the cameras in the parking lot their vehicle was not in the camera’s view. The caller just wanted a report on file.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:15 p.m. Friday to speak with a person who advised that a business had been graffitied approximately two weeks ago. While on scene officers were also advised that overspray from painting being done on the neighboring business had fallen on a vehicle parked in the rear of the business and the brick wall separating the two. Officers spoke with the neighboring business and advised them of the complaint, and they advised they would correct it. The graffiti was determined to be sidewalk chalk that could be removed if washed.

–Officers responded to the 800 block of Granite Avenue at 12:25 p.m. Friday for a barking dog complaint. Officers observed the dog to be quiet and it was taken inside by the owner prior to leaving the area.

–Officers responded to the 600 block of Fair Avenue at 2:14 a.m. Friday for a reported barking dog. Officers checked the area, but no barking dog was located.

–Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 1:42 a.m. Friday for a report of a disturbed person. The caller who advised that she wants to go to the hospital and EMT transported them.

–Officers responded to the 800 block of Adams Avenue at 9:49 p.m. Thursday to deliver a message for the Columbiana Police Department. Officers relayed the message.

–Officers spoke with a person regarding a juvenile being assaulted near Salem Schools on Wednesday. Officers collected information and the matter will be brought to the juvenile detective for further investigation.

–Officers responded to the 1200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:17 p.m. Thursday for a report of three juveniles inside the caller’s home. The caller advised she did not know how the juveniles got into the house, and she first observed two of them inside the house attempting to take a shower, and after being told to leave the two went to the living room table where the third was and ate a banana. The caller was unsure how the juveniles left the residence before officers arrived and the residence was checked with nothing observed to show anyone was inside the residence. Contact was attempted with the caller’s son.

–Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 6:12 p.m. Thursday for a report of a missing person. Officers collected information about the matter and a detective was also notified and responded to assist.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 5:34 p.m. Thursday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with them and advised them to keep it down for the night.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of West Fourth Street at 3:51 p.m. Thursday for a criminal trespassing report. Officers spoke with the caller who advised that she had moved into the residence recently and the precious tent was coming onto the property and getting mail from it, and they did not want them there. The caller provided a name and number, but officers were unable to contact the person in question.
