SALEM POLICE REPORTS

–Officers assisted Ohio State Highway Patrol with a breath test for an OVI arrest at the police department at 4:32 a.m. Saturday. Officers assisted until no longer needed.

–Officers responded to the area of East Pershing Street and South Broadway Avenue at 1:59 a.m. Saturday to assist Highway Patrol with a traffic stop where an OVI investigation took place. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 3:24 p.m. Friday for a reported scam. The caller advised that their mother met several people on Facebook who she sent several Apple gift cards for gifts that were promised to her. The caller realized it was a scam and contacted Apple, Facebook, and the Internet Crimes Center. They were advised a report would be on file.

–Officers attempted to deliver a message to a man in the 1200 block of Mound Street at 2:08 p.m. Friday but no contact could be made.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:20 p.m. Friday for a public assist. Officers stood by while some property was removed by the caller.

–Officers responded to the 600 block of East Ninth Street at 9:19 a.m. Friday for a warrant check. Officers spoke with the person in question Cliff Lake, 41, Salem, confirming the warrant, and they were taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 12:25 a.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that a man was throwing objects at her door but was unable to identify them. They were advised to caller back if the man returned.

–Officers responded to the 1300 block of East State Street at 12:16 a.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person. The caller said the man had a crowbar and claimed to have been jumped. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the man.
