Sheriff’s Office

— A juvenile-related report was taken on Sprucevale Road, Middleton Township, at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, with the report sent to Child Protective Services.

— A private property accident was reported at 4:54 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of United local schools, state Route 9, Hanover Township. All parties exchanged information.

— A man in Madison Township reported at 4:18 p.m. Wednesday that he was the victim of identity theft.

— A deputy assisted with loose cows in the 4600 block of Depot Road, Butler Township, at 3:57 p.m. Wednesday. All the cows were accounted for and put back into their restricted area.

— East Liverpool City Hospital called at 4:17 p.m. Tuesday to request a welfare check on a person on Parkview Drive, Center Township. A deputy spoke with the person, who was fine.

— A deputy was dispatched at 4:11 p.m. Tuesday for an open 911 line, state Route 164, Wayne Township. The homeowner said they were having issues with the phone.

— A man on Cream Ridge Road, Elkrun Township, reported at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday that he has no trespassing signs posted on his property and his neighbor came onto his property. He said he told the man to leave and not return or he’ll have him arrested the next time he trespasses.

Highway Patrol

– James Tsilimos, of state Route 45 in Lisbon, was not cited as a result of a single-vehicle crash at 7:41 a.m. Feb. 9 in Madison Township. Tsilimos was northbound on U.S. Route 30 when he lost control of his vehicle, traveling off the left side of the road and striking an embankment.

– Kimberly Temple, of North Market Street in Lisbon, was cited at 8:40 a.m. Feb. 9 in Elkrun Township for failure to control, after her vehicle traveled off the left side of U.S. Route 30 and struck a landscape wall and culvert.

– Kevin Ramsey, of state Route 9 in Hanoverton was not cited as a result of mishap at 8:25 p.m. Feb. 6. Ramsey allegedly had parked his unoccupied car on an unnamed alley and it traveled eastbound and off the right side of the road, striking several objects after he is believed to have left the vehicle in gear.

– Shawn Ray, of Homeworth, was cited at 5:10 a.m. Jan. 28 in Knox Township for left of center, after his vehicle went over the center line to avoid a head-on collision and forced Marlene Parkison, of Homeworth, who was traveling the opposite direction into a gas meter.

– Rosario Taggart, of First Street in Hanoverton, was cited at 6:01 a.m. Feb. 5 in Butler Township for failure to control, after going left of center while northbound on state Route 9 and striking a ditch.

– Travis Nolan, of Struthers, was not cited shortly after midnight Feb. 6 in Fairfield Township, after hitting a sheet of ice while northbound on state Route 11 and striking a guardrail.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Pershing Street at 9:35 p.m. Thursday for a reported crash. Officers investigated and found that a vehicle driven eastbound on West Pershing Street by Dominic Hawk, 19, Alliance, left the roadway striking a utility pole causing it to break in half. Hawk was highly intoxicated, slurring his speech, and smelled of alcohol, and was taken into custody and placed in the back of a police cruiser due to becoming agitated. Hawk then began to become more agitated and started yelling profanities, kicking the cruiser’s doors attempting to break out and resisting order to remain in the care when officers attempted to speak with him. Officers were unable to conduct field sobriety testing due to his behavior and he was transported to the police department so he could be secured in the back of the cruiser and was ultimately transported to the Columbiana County Jail charged with first degree misdemeanor underage consumption, second degree misdemeanor resisting arrest and obstruction of official business, fourth degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and minor misdemeanor failure to maintain control.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Allen Road at 4:40 p.m. Thursday for a report of a truck that slid off the roadway. Officers provided traffic control until the vehicle was removed by a towing service.

— Officers spoke with a person by phone at 2:25 p.m. Thursday regarding an issue at a business in the 100 block of South Ellsworth Avenue. The caller advised that her employee had an issue with a customer who was no longer at the business. The caller was advised to have the employees call the department when the customer returns if there is an issue.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Vine Avenue at 9:36 p.m. Wednesday for a reported dispute and wellness check. Officers spoke with all parties and verified the well-being of the person involved, resolving the dispute for the evening.

— Officers responded to the block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:31 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person needing to speak to an officer. Officers spoke with the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday for a report of soliciting. Officers advised them that there was no soliciting in city limits.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 3:34 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. The person in question was taken into custody and $80 was seized and placed into evidence.

Columbiana

– Brandon Shaffer, of Washingtonville, was arrested at 6:26 p.m. Feb. 7 on charges of domestic violence, abduction and strangulation, after a physical assault.

– An officer took a private property crash report shortly after noon Feb. 7 in the 100 block of South Main Street.

– Police performed a welfare check at 11:22 a.m. Feb. 7 in the 800 block of East Park Avenue. After breaching the back door of the residence, they made contact with her.

– A hit-skip collision was reported shortly after midnight Feb. 7 in front of Factory 46 Tavern in Village Plaza. After making contact with the subject in the vehicle, Michael Mullen, he was arrested on charges of OVI, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield right of way from a private drive.

– Police took a report for threatening phone calls at 7:45 p.m. Feb. 6 at a business in the 100 block of North Main Street.

– Jeremy Athey, of Columbiana, was arrested at 9:06 a.m. Feb. 6 in the 300 block of North Main Street on a warrant out of North Canton Police Department.

– A private property crash was reported at 4:10 p.m. Feb. 5 in the drug mart parking lot.

— Patrolling officers on Crestview Road at 5:44 p.m. Thursday recovered a loose dog and returned it home.
