Salem
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 9:44 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the man in question who advised that he was going through a rough time in his life now and just wanted to talk. Officers stayed and listened to the person while offering further avenues of assistance and they were advised to the come to the police department the next day, where a member of peer support will meet with him and assist him further and to call back if he needed them.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West Sixth Street at 8:07 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check on a woman. Officers were present when the woman pulled into her driveway and observed her to be upset and crying, at which time she made a statement of harming herself. The fire department responded, and she was voluntarily transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for further treatment.
— Officers responded to the police department at 7:24 p.m. Sunday for a person wanting options regarding an ongoing neighbor issue.
— Officers responded to the 2400 block of Southeast Boulevard at 6:48 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. The caller advised that they had ordered a pizza and when they went to pick it up nobody was inside, and food was left on the counters. Officers checked inside the vehicle and observed nobody inside. A keyholder was driving by and noticed that officers were present advising that everyone walked out.
— Officers responded to the 1400 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:22 p.m. Sunday for a report of a power line that caught on fire. Officers observed the power line to be in Perry Township’s jurisdiction and the Perry Township Fire Department was notified and responded.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 5:16 p.m. Sunday for a report of possible harassment. Officers were advised that the caller has had family members making social media posts about them and that every time they block one account, they make more. They also advised that the family members had shown up to their place of employment multiple times as recently as Friday. They were advised of their options.
— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Stone Castle Trace at 2:17 p.m. Sunday for a reported civil matter. The caller advised that they have been having ongoing issues with their neighbor, who has been taking pictures of their residence. The two are involved in a civil matter over their properties and she was advised that as long as the neighbor did not come onto the property nothing could be done. Officers also spoke with the neighbor who advised they were taking pictures of a tree limb that had fallen from the neighbor’s property onto his for his attorney. Both were advised that the matter was civil and to contact their attorneys.
— Officers responded to the area of Jennings Avenue and West Fifth Street at 1:32 p.m. Sunday for a report of lines down in the roadway. Officers located a cable down lying across the roadway and moved it off the road, and just down the road a portable basketball hoop was blocking the road and was also removed.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 1:17 p.m. Sunday for a reported tree in the roadway. Officers located the tree in the roadway blocking the road and the street department arrived and removed the tree from the roadway.
— Officers responded to the area of the Newgarden Avenue railroad crossing at 1:34 p.m. Sunday for a report of lines down. Fire department personnel responded and stood by waiting for Ohio Edison.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:12 p.m. Sunday for a report of utility lines in the roadway. Officers discovered that the weather had caused several utility poles to be damaged and fall onto the roadway causing power lines to land on a vehicle with a person still inside as a result. When Ohio Edison arrived the person and vehicle were safely removed from the roadway and emergency crews were able to clear the scene once barricades were placed at Aetna Street and Euclid Street. Ohio Edson remained on scene for repairs to the utility poles.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of East Sixth Street at 11:31 a.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the woman in question, discovering that she had fallen asleep, and the woman was advised to contact the caller.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:13 a.m. Sunday regarding losing his vehicle’s license plate. Officers advised the man to go to the bureau of motor vehicles the next day to advise them and get a new plate. Officers provided the man with a report number for the BMV.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of East Sixth Street at 6:30 a.m. Sunday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised her husband made her leave the residence and wouldn’t let her back inside. Officers spoke with the husband advising that he couldn’t kick his wife out of the house since they are married, and she lives at the residence. The man advised that she was drunk, and he didn’t want her in the house around their kids. Officers advised the man again that since they are married and she lives at the residence, officers cannot make her leave. Officers also advised both parties that if they get caked back to the residence they could be charged if there is evidence of domestic violence.
Sheriff’s Office
— A suspicious vehicle was reported at 5:14 a.m. Friday in the area of Bandy and Buck roads. The vehicle was located at the residence that matched the registration.
— A deputy was dispatched at 11:52 a.m. Thursday to do a welfare check on a juvenile on Pancake Clarkson Road, Middleton Township. The child was found to be fine and sleeping.
— A man on Lisbon Road, Salem Township reported 7:17 p.m. Thursday that his neighbor plays loud music all day and night and the volume is turned up and down. Upon arrival, a deputy did not hear any music but the neighbor was advised of the complaint.
— A woman was reported walking in and out of traffic on Depot Road near Winona Road in Salem Township at 3:21 p.m. Thursday, but was not found.
— A woman on Applegate Road, Center Township reported at 10:50 p.m. March 12 that another woman on Depot Road, Center Township, was posting untrue statements about her and her family on social media. She was told to contact the social media site administrator and an attorney.
— A woman in Knox Township reported at 5:52 p.m. March 12 that she purchased a motor online from a company in St. Paul, Minn. for $1,550 and the company is saying the motor got lost in the mail and she needs to send another $600 for them to resend it. She was advised to contact the St. Paul, Minn. police.
— Dispatch received a call at 4:53 p.m. from the Ohio State Highway Patrol that a white Ford Escape pulled off of the road on state Route 11 by the state Route 344 exit, Fairfield Township, and three males with black masks got out of the vehicle. A deputy check the area, with no one there.
— A man on U.S. Route 62, Butler Township reported at 4:06 p.m. March 11 that his firearm was stolen from inside his vehicle. The firearm was entered into the law enforcement data base.
