Salem
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Vine Avenue at 6:29 p.m. Monday for a reported overdose. Officers stood by while the fire department and EMT provided medical aid and contacted a detective from the Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force to respond and contraband was recovered and turned over to the task force. The woman was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center where officers spoke with her.
— Officers responded to the 2200 block of East State Street at 5:02 p.m. Monday for a reported person to be removed. Officers located the person in question sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised that she was no longer welcome at the business. The woman advised that she understood then left the area.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 2:47 p.m. Monday for a report of illegal dumping. The caller advised that someone had thrown trash away in the dumpster. Officers asked if he was the owner of the dumpster, and he advised he was not, and officers advised him to have the owner call if they wanted to make a complaint.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 1:21 p.m. Monday regarding a stolen bicycle. The caller advised that sometime the day prior he parked his bicycle in the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue while visiting a friend and when he came out it was gone. They also advised that there was a camouflage bag attached to his bike that had his medication in it and needed a report on file due to the medication also being taken.
— Karen Sworak, 37, Diamond, was cited for failure to yield after her westbound vehicle on West Pershing Street struck a vehicle driven North on South Howard Avenue by Betty Kibler, 67, Hanoverton, at 8:22 a.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.
Sheriff’s Office
— Deputies were dispatched at 12:32 a.m Sunday to American Legion Post 442 in Salineville in reference to an assault. An investigation was pending.
— At 10:56 a.m. Saturday on McIntosh Road in Madison Township, deputies were dispatched to assist multiple fire departments for a man driving a gray Jeep through a blocked road on McIntosh Road near Township Line Road. Shortly after, the man took off, hit a fire truck, ran over multiple tools and nearly hit multiple firefighters. The fire chief followed behind him until deputies arrived at the man’s residence on Wells Hollow Road. The man was identified as David Ours, 55, Wells Hollow Road, Wellsville, who was charged with criminal damaging or endangering for the incident. He was also cited for operating a vehicle impaired, failing to stop after an accident and driving through a safety zone.
— A woman on Chestnut Lane, Hanover Township, reported at 6:31 p.m. Saturday that her 8-year-old daughter received an unwanted message on social media from a person claiming to be a 13-year-old male. She was told to block the account and contact the social media site administrator.
— Deputies returned a phone call in reference to a civil matter listed as a property dispute at 12:14 a.m. Saturday on Homeworth Road, Knox Township.
— Deputies were dispatched at 12:36 a.m. Saturday to Bell Road in Elkrun Township regarding a bull at large. Upon arrival, one deputy spotted the bull while the second deputy gathered the owner and a wrangler to capture the bull. The bull was successfully captured and led back to the owner’s property.
— A deputy was dispatched to Burtview Place, Butler Township, for a domestic dispute report and both parties signed a refusal.
— Personnel from Calcutta West Point KOA Journey, East Liverpool Road, Madison Township, requested a report at 7:22 p.m. Friday that a woman was trespassing on the property and harassing campers. Staff escorted her off of the property and she was advised to stay off of the property. If she returns, charges will be filed.
— A man reported at 6 p.m. Friday that he’s watching his neighbor’s property on Ganders Flat Road, Elkrun Township. He reported people were at the lake and no one is to be there. A deputy spoke to two men, one from Lisbon and one from Salineville, and told them to leave.
— A man on Black Road, Center Township, reported at 3:41 p.m. Friday that his neighbor is always letting his dog run loose and it comes onto his property.
