LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Dan Martinez, 66, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, waived extradition to Texas as a fugitive from justice wanted for sex-related charges involving children.

The charges pending against him in Wichita County, Texas include two counts aggravated sexual assault, two counts of indecency with a child-sexual contact and three counts indecency with a child by contact.

A case against Nicole Taylor, 45, 10th Street, Wellsville, was bound over to the county grand jury for theft, a fourth-degree felony, for allegedly taking lottery tickets while she was working at Peps Carryout in Wellsville and scratching them without paying for them last year. The affidavit said Wellsville police officers were dispatched on Sept. 25, 2024 for the theft, with the owner receiving a statement from the Ohio Lottery Commission showing an insufficient total of $8,457.

A forensic examination by the Forensic Psychiatric Center of Northeast Ohio was ordered for Derek Calvin, 34, Canfield, regarding competency to stand trial. Calvin was charged with second-degree felony burglary for allegedly forcing entry into a home in Fairfield Township, damaging some household items, ransacking the home and taking property belonging to the victim on March 4.

A status conference hearing was set March 18 and a jury trial remains set for March 19 for John Muschweck, 66, Stagecoach Road, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly grabbed a child by the chin and throat area and then throwing him onto the ground from a stool on July 7, 2024 in St. Clair Township.

Darrien Greenlee, 31, North Main Street, Lisbon, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 165 days suspended and credit for two days served, leaving a balance of 13 days still to serve in jail for assault. She was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and to have no contact with the victim. She was accused of trying to force her way out of a treatment room at Salem Regional Medical Center past multiple hospital personnel, lunging at a registered nurse with her hands and shoving her out of the way on March 2 in Salem. According to a police affidavit, the defendant’s hands made contact with the victim’s neck and the victim landed on top of a trash can and her back slammed into the wall of the defendant’s room. The victim reported the defendant threw a punch to the left side of her neck. An emergency admission had been placed on the defendant at the time, prohibiting her from leaving, so she was being blocked from leaving.

David L. Saunders, 47, Canton, was fined $650 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 172 days suspended and credit for eight days served, for possessing criminal tools, soliciting and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and an online prostitution prevention course. Saunders was accused of posting an ad on a known website for the solicitation of prostitution and soliciting to receive sexual conduct from an undercover agent posing as a purchaser of sex for $250, then driving to Salem for the meeting with the agent on March 6 with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession. During a search of his person, a glass pipe with residue was located in his jacket pocket.

A pretrial was set May 5 for David R. Dority, 37, Canton, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct for an agreed upon price of $100 from an undercover agent and then driving to Salem for the meeting on March 12.

Timothy M. Quinter, 36, Randolph, was fined $350 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 88 days suspended and credit for one day served, leaving a balance of one day still to serve for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and an online prostitution prevention course. Quinter requested sexual conduct for an agreed upon price of $60 from an undercover agent, then drove to Salem on March 11 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

Johnathan Vinkler, 48, Youngstown Pittsburgh Road, Petersburg, was sentenced to 80 days in jail for violating his probation for a 2023 case for operating a vehicle impaired and reasonable control, a 2024 case for obstructing official business and criminal trespass and a 2023 case for disorderly conduct. A charge of violation of a protection order was dismissed because he was never served with the protection order. The charge alleged he called a protected person 18 times from the county jail from Jan. 14 to Feb. 14 this year.

Payton Dolly Mae Wilson, 26, Dresden Avenue, East Liverpool, was sentenced to 16 days in jail for violating her probation for 2024 cases for two counts of disorderly conduct. A pretrial was set for her on March 27 for charges of theft and drug paraphernalia for allegedly failing to scan and pay for 11 items totaling $164 and allegedly possessing two burnt glass pipes and a bag containing multiple packages containing an unknown white powder substance on Jan. 20 in St. Clair Township.

A pretrial was set March 20 for Jada Pack, 38, Erie Street, East Liverpool, charged with physical control, OVI second offense, slow speed and two counts of theft. Pack was accused of allegedly failing to scan and pay for 49 items valued at $700 from the Calcutta Walmart on Dec. 18, 2024 and allegedly stealing items from Dollar General in East Liverpool on Dec. 21, 2024. She was also ordered to serve 20 days in jail for violating her probation for a 2024 case of disorderly conduct.

Christian Henry, 21, Salem Unity Road, Salem, was fined $150 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with credit for two days served, leaving a balance of 28 days still to serve in jail for drug paraphernalia for possessing glass smoking pipes with white residue, a digital scale with white powder residue and a receipt book with different amounts during a traffic stop on May 2, 2024 in Fairfield Township.

A pretrial was set June 5 for Kevin May, 43, May Road, East Liverpool, charged with unauthorized use of motor vehicle and criminal damaging for allegedly taking a woman’s 1997 Chevy GMC without permission and then wrecking it, causing damage on Jan. 31. The case had been bound over to the grand jury with an indictment issued, but then transferred back to Municipal Court.

A pretrial was set May 20 for Clifford Lake, 42, Newgarden Avenue, Salem, charged with penalty related to a violation of the Salem city housing code for allegedly failing to vacate a condemned residence in Salem on Oct. 13, 2024.

A pretrial was set June 5 for Kaleb Farnsworth, 30, Cartwright Street, East Liverpool, charged with theft and possession of drug abuse instrument for allegedly stealing a woman’s keys for her vehicle and fleeing the scene on foot on March 12 in St. Clair Township. After being located, he allegedly possessed a used hypodermic syringe.

A pretrial was set May 19 for Linda Hoppel, 80, Longs Church Road, East Liverpool, charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan and pay for 28 items totaling $196 at the Calcutta Walmart on March 5.

A pretrial was set June 2 for Thomas Summers, 46, Haiti Road, Salineville, charged with prohibitions against violations of board, obstructing official business and resisting arrest for allegedly failing to correct a nuisance violation from 2023 at his Haiti Road, Salineville property and for running away from a wildlife officer attempting to serve him with a warrant on Oct. 12, 2024 and resisting when caught in Washington Township.

A pretrial was set March 31 for David Caswell, 36, Canton, charged with falsification and driving under suspension for allegedly giving officers a false name during a traffic stop on March 12 in Columbiana.

A pretrial was set March 20 for Hunter Cosgrove, 22, state Route 45, Lisbon, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a clear pipe with burnt residue on it on March 12 in Yellow Creek Township.

A pretrial was set May 5 for Shawn Ramsey, 47, Walnut Ridge, Salineville, charged with operating a vehicle impaired first offense, OVI breath and reasonable control.

A pretrial was set March 20 for Kerlin Martinez, 35, Brooklyn, N.Y., charged with stopped school bus and no valid license.

A pretrial was set June 2 for Rebecca Kirby, 43, Rose Drive, Lisbon, charged with use of unauthorized plate and driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set June 3 for Joshua Francis, 43, Park Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.

Ronald Melott, 49, Lacroft Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $300 and sentenced to 12 days in jail, with credit for 12 days served, for reckless operation, unauthorized plate, marked lanes and no valid sticker.

Jennie McDole, 45, Newell, W.Va., was fined $200 for unauthorized plate and no valid sticker.

Brittney Smith, 32, East Sixth Street, Salem, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.

Jason Hurst, 47, Sell Road, Lisbon, was fined $250 for noncompliance.

Earl Thorne, 29, Wintersville, was fined $100 for no license.

Rodney McMeans, 30, Youngstown, was fined $50 for traffic control devices, with a charge of driving under suspension dismissed.

Jeremy Wood, 38, Niles, was fined $100 for an equipment violation amended from speeding.

Brian Miller Jr., 42, Grant Street, Lisbon, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.

Grand Jury

LISBON — Two drug defendants were served Wednesday with secret indictments issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury.

Christopher Robinson, 42, Pritchard Avenue, Lisbon, was charged with possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing fentanyl on March 11, 2024.

Danielle Bowers, 34, Walnut Street, Rogers, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony, and possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and cocaine on July 26, 2022.
