Sheriff’s Office

— Deputies arrested James Davisson, Salienville, at 2:51 p.m. on Sunday, charging him with disorderly conduct, felony-five obstructing justice and felony-four resisting arrest in Salineville. Davisson allegedly was threatening people in the parking lot of an apartment complex and when approached by officers, Davisson refused an order to drop a knife he was holding. Eventually, Davisson tossed the knife but resisted being handcuffed and was taken to the ground.

— Deputies conducted a welfare check at 2:51 a.m. on Lowmiller Road in West Township on Sunday.

— Deputies took a report at 6:57 a.m. about trespassing on Y&O Road in Madison Township on Sunday.

— Deputies responded at 7:47 a.m. on Saturday to a report of a young juvenile walking by himself on Adams Road in Unity Township.

— Deputies responded at 11:56 p.m. to an elderly person who advised they were lost at the Food and Fuel Stop in Rogers on Saturday. Deputies gave the subject a courtesy ride to the sheriff office where he was picked up by his son.

— Deputies took a report of a theft of key fob at 9:31 p.m. on Friday by resident on Lisbon Road in Salem Township.

— Deputies responded at 3:18 p.m. on Friday to Sandy Creek Road in West Township to an open 911 call.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 9 p.m. Saturday for a reported fight. The caller advised that a road rage incident had led to a vehicle following him into the lot at Walmart. Both parties confronted each other, and officers were called before another incident occurred. All parties were separated and after it was determined no threats or physical harm occurred, they were advised to go their own separate ways.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of East State Street at 7:36 p.m. Saturday to assist the fire department with two people who had fallen.

— Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:20 p.m. Saturday that was driving erratically to keep up with an ambulance transporting a relative. Officers advised them to drive safely so they did not cause an accident.

— Officers on patrol in the area of North Howard Avenue conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation at 6:47 p.m. Saturday. During the stop K-9 Chaz was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotic odor. The driver was issued a written warning for the violation.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Jennings Avenue and West Seventh Street at 4:10 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person with a possible warrant. Officers checked the area but did not locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Merle Road at 12:50 p.m. Saturday for a report of a large bonfire. The fire was located behind a residence and the fire department advised the homeowner of the city ordinance and burn ban.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 5:09 a.m. Saturday for a reported medical issue. Officers found that everything was okay.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Woodland Avenue at 2:04 a.m. Saturday for a wellness check. The caller advised her ex-boyfriend had contacted her by text stating he was going to kill himself. Contact was made with the person in question at their home and their father, both of whom had been sleeping. He advised that he did not want to harm or kill himself and that he had not told his ex that he did. He was advised to contact officers if he did have feelings of self-harm in the future and he and his father agreed to do so.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 12:59 a.m. Saturday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with the homeowner and advised them to turn the music down, which they did without issue.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of East State Street at 12:10 a.m. Saturday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised that she and her brother had gotten into an argument regarding money and his possible drug use and during the argument had gotten into each other’s faces. The caller advised that she had smacked her brother who then grabbed her around the waist and shoved her, causing her to fall to the ground before leaving the residence. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the brother, and photos were taken of scrapes on the caller’s hands, knees, and elbows, and a statement was collected. Officers will attempt to collect a statement from the brother if he returned and the caller advised that while she was not interested in charges would contact officers if her brother returned and began causing issues again. The status of the case will be referred for review by the prosecutor’s office.

— Officers responded to the area of Centennial Park at 11:50 p.m. Friday for vehicles in the park after hours. Contact was made with both a man and woman who advised they had been out for dinner and the woman was dropping the man off at his vehicle. They were advised park hours ended at 10 p.m. and moved on without issue.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:57 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that juveniles were sneaking around their home and possibly peeking in windows. Officers searched the area for several minutes but were unable to locate anyone fitting their description.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of Lexington Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Friday for a reported reckless operator. Officers located both vehicles in question, advising them of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Howard Avenue at 9:42 p.m. Friday for a report of some sort of disturbance. Officers found that it was just the residents playing with their kids.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Morris Avenue at 8:33 p.m. Friday for a reported custody dispute. Officers spoke with the caller and the juvenile’s mother, and the juvenile was returned to the mother.

— Officers responded to the area of North Cunningham Road and Bentley Drive at 8:17 p.m. Friday for a reported brush fire. Officers provided traffic control until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of rose Avenue at 7:17 p.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious person inside a multiple tenant parking garage. Officers spoke with the person in question who was resting due to stomach pains. They went inside the residence for the time being to keep the peace and prevent issues with other tenants.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the area of Bentley Drive at 5:25 p.m. Friday for a reported brush fire. Officers provided traffic control until the fire was extinguished.

— Officers responded to the police department at 5:24 p.m. Friday for a reported custody dispute. The caller advised that the mother of his child did not follow the court order regarding his weekend visitation. Officers explained that the issue was civil, but they would attempt contact with the mother. The mother advised she was choosing not to turn over the child at this time and the caller was advised and provided with a report number for reference.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East Pershing Street at 2:34 p.m. Friday for a report of a person with a firearm. Officers located guards from the federal prison who had brought inmates for medical treatment.

— Officers on patrol in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:51 p.m. Friday heard an unknown person yelling profanity. Officers located a male juvenile who advised that he had been involved in a dispute with two other juveniles who had walked away. Officers spoke with the juvenile who advised several different versions of what had occurred. Officers were unable to locate the other parties.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 2 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that an unknown man had attempted to get into her screened porch where they were sitting and left when she yelled at them. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them and an extra watch was requested. The caller was also advised to contact officers if they returned.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:21 a.m. Friday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised that while driving they saw an approximately 2-year-old in the roadway and stopped to care for the juvenile until officers could locate their residence. The grandmother advised that she had seen the juvenile go upstairs and was unsure how or when they had left the residence. Contact was made with the child’s mother by phone who advised she dropped her child off to got to an appointment and was coming to pick them up. All parties were advised that the incident would be forwarded to children’s protective services.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 5:30 a.m. Friday for a reported suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was unoccupied, and officers advised them to call a tow truck.

— Officers responded to the area of Highland Avenue at 3 a.m. Friday for a reported reckless operator. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Orchard Bend Drive at 12:39 a.m. Friday for a report of several suspicious people in the area. Officers checked the area and located three people walking in the field. Officers spoke with them and found that they were playing a senior game with multiple people from school, and they were advised to cease in their actions and go home for the evening.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of West Wilson Street at 11:53 p.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that someone knocked on her window and ran. Officers searched the area but did not locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of West Seventh Street at 10:01 p.m. Thursday for a report of people walking through yards that did not live in the area. Officers checked the area but did not locate the people in question who had already entered another residence on the street.

— Officers on patrol in the 300 block of East Third Street at 10:01 p.m. Thursday observed open burning on the front porch of a residence. Officers advised the residents to put the flame out and contact the fire department regarding burning laws.
