Salem

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Salem Parkway at 5:07 a.m. Thursday for a reported smoke investigation. Officers checked the area and observed a tanker truck delivering liquid gas to a business which was causing the smoke.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 9:23 p.m. Thursday for a reported harassment incident involving two juveniles. Officers advised them that they would speak to the juvenile in question.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 9:10 p.m. Thursday for a reported domestic dispute. Both parties were spoken to separately and advised that there was an argument between the two regarding their current living situation, but nothing physical had occurred. The woman agreed to go grab some dinner with her daughter so the situation could de-escalate. Both parties are working towards moving out of the residence in the next weeks.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Madison Avenue at 7:53 p.m. Thursday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke with both parties, and it was advised that the person in question had been staying at the residence after being in a treatment facility and had since relapsed and was no longer wanted at the residence. The man agreed to gather his belongings and leave.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 4:46 p.m. Thursday for a report of possible criminal damage. The caller advised that she is in the process of moving and her landlord removed her mailbox. Officers spoke with the landlord who advised that he thought the caller had moved out as she had not been there and that he would put the mailbox back up tomorrow. Officers spoke to the caller who advised that would be fine and just wanted a report made at that time.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Woodland Avenue at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers attempted to speak with the people in question but were unable to.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 3:39 p.m. Wednesday for a reported disorderly person. The person who started the incident was stopped and identified, and the business did not want to trespass them at that time.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of South Union Avenue at 2:59 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person in the driveway. The caller advised that the man had left the area southbound through the alley and then westbound on Oak Street. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the caller and advised the caller to contact the department if the person returned.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 2:44 p.m. Wednesday for a reported parking complaint. Officers spoke with utility workers who advised that they were moving the truck down the power lines but would put cones out for traffic control.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Cedar Street at 2:06 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that the person in question did not appear to have any pants on. Officers checked the area several times but were unable to locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 1:31 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that a person was sitting outside the front doors not responding to her question. Officers found that the person was waiting for a friend to get home. The caller, who is the manager of the facility, wanted them to leave the property until their friend returned, and the person did so without incident.

Leetonia

— A disabled vehicle was investigated at 9:37 p.m. May 30 in the 300 block of Columbia Street. The driver was waiting for a tow.

— Street employees called for assistance with a male subject, who was just passing through, around 10:18 a.m. May 30 and felt ill. Upon a warrant check for the subject, Ray Tylicki, of Solon, warrants were found, but he was out of pickup radius. Tylicki was advised to take care of warrants and sent on his way, after refusing medical treatment.

— Anthony Short Jr., no address listed, was served at 6:10 a.m. May 31 with a warrant out of Butler County, Pa. and transported to Columbiana County Jail, where he awaited a transfer of custody. He had been driving a rental car and stopped for speeding (going 50 in a 35-mph zone) near State and Water streets. In addition to speeding, Short also was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license.

— Miguel Jimenez, no address listed, was cited at 5:33 a.m. June 2 in the area of state Route 344 and West Main Street with driving under suspension and a seat belt violation.

— Police investigated a suspicious vehicle at 5:59 a.m. May 23 in the St. Paul’s Church parking lot.

— Michael Green, no address listed, was arrested at 3:19 p.m. May 28 on a charge of disorderly conduct, after urinating all over the bathroom floor of the village Dairy Queen following applying for a job there.

— Tyler Wells, of Main Street, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. May 26 on a charge of felony domestic violence, after allegedly striking his teenage daughter in the face twice and breaking her cell phone. The charge was elevated due to a previous domestic violence conviction.

— Jeremiah Dick, of Ravenna, was arrested at 11 p.m. May 18 on a charge of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony, after an officer encountered the 20-year-old and an underage victim having sex in the back seat of a vehicle in the 900 block of Cherry Valley Road. The victim was uncooperative with investigators and her guardian didn’t wish to pursue charges. However, he wanted it relayed to Dick that he didn’t want him to see the girl anymore.
