Grand Jury

LISBON — Joseph Walters, 41, Faulk Avenue, East Liverpool, was served Tuesday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing cocaine on Aug. 6, 2023.

LISBON — A Lisbon man accused of burglary was sentenced to 18 months in prison during a recent sentencing hearing in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.

Cliff Lake, 42, Wood Street, received credit for 95 days already served in jail.

Lake previously entered a guilty plea to one count of third-degree felony burglary for an alleged incident on Dec. 12, 2024 when he trespassed in an occupied structure when another man was present with the purpose to commit aggravated menacing or assault and the offender had a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance identified as a hammer at the time of the incident.

A first-degree felony aggravated burglary charge and a second-degree felony burglary charge will be dismissed.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

— Chelsea Wooley, 29, St. Jacobs-Logtown Road, was placed on an intervention plan for 24 months after pleading guilty to fifth-degree felonies of identity fraud and unauthorized use of computer, cable or telecommunications property and misdemeanor theft. According to the indictment, Wooley used personal information of another woman with the intent to hold herself out as that woman on June 2, 2023, then on June 4, 2023, used computer hacking or illegal access and stole the personal health records of the other woman and East Liverpool City Hospital.

— Katelynn Vangiesen, 22, West Washington Street, Lisbon, was placed under community control for three years and ordered to have no contact with the victim for assault, a fourth-degree felony. A charge of endangering children will be dismissed. From Nov. 12, 2024 to Nov. 16, 2024, she was accused of causing physical harm to a child victim.

— Samantha Stewart, 40, West Wilson Street, Salem, was placed under community control for five years after pleading guilty to illegal use of supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits or WIC program benefits, a third-degree felony, for misusing the monetary benefits from De.c. 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023. She was also ordered to make restitution of $11,460 in monthly payments.

— Alonna Adkins, 25, Campground Road, Wellsville, was sentenced to 230 days in the county jail, with credit for 218 days served, leaving a balance of 12 days still to serve for violating the terms of her probation for fourth-degree felony attempted tampering with evidence and fifth-degree felony possession of fentanyl-related compound for possessing fentanyl and attempting to tamper with evidence on Sept. 22, 2022. Her community control was dishonorably terminated.

— Lily Marshall, 22, North Lima, was ordered to participate in drug court for a period not to exceed five years and to serve up to six months in the Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Lisbon after pleading guilty to possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony for possessing fentanyl on March 18, 2024.
