Joann Forney Cook

Together Again

COLUMBIANA — Joann Forney Cook, 85, formerly of Columbiana, passed away on May 9, 2018, at Canfield Place in Youngstown.

Joann was born on June 9, 1932, in Columbiana, a daughter of the late Howard and

LaVerne (Huxley) Forney.

Joann retired after 30 years of working at Packard Electric. She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana. Joann was active with the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames XVII Century, Spencer Family Association, Mahoning Valley Civil War Roundtable, Mahoning Valley Historical Society and the Columbiana Fairfield Historical Society. She spent many days volunteering. Joann also enjoyed history, reading, cooking and genealogy. She was very proud of her nieces and nephews.

She leaves to cherish her memories her twin sister, Joyce D. Haydu; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death Aug. 23, 2012, by her husband, William E. Cook, whom she married on June 7, 1958.

Per Joann’s wishes, private services were held.

The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio, with the arrangements for their loved one.
