James A. Griffith
EAST PALESTINE–James A. Griffith, 100, a longtime resident of East Palestine, died Monday at his home with his family and caretaker by his side.
James was born Jan. 21, 1919 in Canonsburg, Pa., a son of the late Alfred and Ina Morrison Griffith. He was a 1937 graduate of East Palestine High School and had been a self-employed plumber.
He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
His wife, Mary Robson Griffith, whom he married Oct. 10, 1942, preceded him in death in 1998.
James is survived by a son, Timothy J. Griffith of East Palestine; daughter, Gwenna (Donald) Davidson of Valley Forge, Pa.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. The family will receive friends prior to the time of service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Glenview Cemetery. A luncheon will take place at the conclusion of all services at Centenary United Methodist Church.
