Wilma L. Cyrus

EAST PALESTINE–Wilma L. Cyrus, 89, a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday at Christian House of East Palestine.

Wilma was born Nov. 14, 1929 in Unity Township, a daughter of the late Ray and Georgianna Peters Saviers.

She was a graduate of East Palestine High School class of 1947. She was an active member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. She had worked in the clerical department for the former American Paper Products for 30 years prior to retiring in the late 1990s.

She was preceded in death in 2013 by her husband, Charles “Lindy” Cyrus, whom she married April 18, 1952; and a son, Lee Cyrus.

She is survived by a son, Charles (Kimberly) Cyrus of Mt. Jackson, Pa. ; a daughter, Barbara Greaves of East Palestine; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters, Donna Fox of Ft. Atkinson, Wisc., and Marilyn Walker of Stow.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Centenary United Methodist Church with Cindy Figley officiating. A private interment will follow at Columbiana Cemetery. www.linsley-royal.com
