Benjamin Franklin “Benny” Lydic Jr.

SEARCY, Ark.–Benjamin Franklin “Benny” Lydic Jr., 52, of Searcy, Ark., (formerly from the area) died at 5:09 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, as the result of an accident in front of the hospital in Searcy.

He was born on June 3, 1967 in Youngstown, the son of Louise Irene (Sowers) Lydic and the late Benjamin Franklin “Frank” Lydic Sr.

He grew up in Ohio, spending time living in various places in and around the area. He then moved to the Austin, Texas. In the past two years he moved to the Searcy, Ark. area. He was currently employed at the Searcy Walmart in the maintenance department on the night shift.

He served in the (Ft. Jackson, S.C.) U.S. Army. He was a 1985 graduate of Liberty High School in Liberty.

In addition to his mother of Salem, he is survived by his brother David J. Lydic of Newton Falls, Ohio, and a half brother James Sowers Esq. of San Francisco, Calif.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. A time of visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Salem Honor Guard will be in charge of the rendering of honors and the services.

Arrangements were entrusted to his cousin, Bob Greenisen of the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.
