Marie Evelyn Ray

ALLIANCE — Marie Evelyn (Altenhof) Ray, 104, of Alliance, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday at Brookdale Senior Living of Alliance.

Born on Feb. 4, 1915 in Butler Township to William and Maggie (Meyer) Altenhof, she lived in Alliance for most of her life.

Marie was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was employed at Alliance Manufacturing Co. and also at the Ravenna Arsenal as a bomb builder.

Survivors include two daughters, Marlene (John) Wheeler of Alliance and Dawn Struble of Ellwood City, Pa.; son, Kenneth Sineri of Placentia, Calif.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Donald L. Ray, whom she married on June 10, 1944 and who died on March 5, 1961.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. the Rev. Canon Matthew J. Mankowski officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Grandview Cemetery.
