Roderick E. Halverstadt
RAVENNA–Roderick E. Halverstadt, 83 of Ravenna, formerly of Salem, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5. He was born Sept. 7, 1936 in Salem to Emerson and Ann (Brown) Halverstadt.
Roderick was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna and the Young at Heart at the church. He retired from E. W. Bliss Company where he was a machinist.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth L. Francis; children Marsha Berger, Cheryl Dailey, David Halverstadt and Charles Halverstadt; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Cecilia McClaren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Paul Halverstadt.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna with Father William Kraynak officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ravenna.
