Shirley Madison Hutson
SALINEVILLE — Shirley Madison Hutson, 93, of West Main Street died Saturday at the Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.
Shirley was born March 9, 1927, in the family home at Pig’s Ear outside Salineville, a daughter of Paul Samuel “Kibe” Madison and Cora Mary Rush Madison.
She married Kenneth K. Hutson on May 19, 1954. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1983. Shirley worked in Salineville at Kirk’s Men’s Clothing Store as a seamstress and later at the Citizens Banking Company as a teller.
Shirley graduated from Salineville High School in 1945. She was a member of the Salineville United Methodist Church. She was a member of the board of directors for many years, the United Methodist Women, and taught Sunday School for over 60 years to various age groups.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Linda (Kim) Adams and Mary Jean Hutson, both of Salineville; two granddaughters and a sister, Linda (Dick) Clark of Salineville.
Family and friends may call at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with visitation during the hour before. Pastor Linda Baker of the Salineville United Methodist Church and Pastor William Johnson, former pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will immediately follow the services at Woodland Cemetery in Salineville.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests memorial bequests be made to Shirley’s favorite charity, the Salineville Volunteer Fire Department, 34 Washington St., Salineville, 43945, or a charity of choice.
