Thankful for an angel who walks among us

To the editor:

I thank God for the angels who walk among us. Our angel has been a nurse at Fresenius Dialysis Center named Shelly Kale. Anyone who is a patient or cares for a loved one with chronic, debilitating illnesses knows the journey is not an easy one.

Shelly was our teacher. She made sure that she knew every detail and was careful to make sure we learned them too. She was thorough, but very patient. When we had trouble getting meds through the VA, she was our advocate. Shelley fought for us. When I broke down and cried, overwhelmed with fear of unknown, she held me. She helped me find a strength inside myself that I never knew was there. I wish everyone could have a Shelly angel.

Shelly no longer works at Fresenius, and we will miss her more than words could express. I wish her God speed on her new path in life. There will never be a way for us to thank our very own angel, Shelly.
