Another endorsement for Gamble
I am writing to voice my support for Columbiana County Prosecutor candidate John Gamble. I write as a former Assistant Columbiana County Prosecuting Attorney, former Assistant City Prosecutor and Police Legal Advisor for the City of Akron, Ohio and friend of John as well as the staff of the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office. John did send me a letter asking for my support as a local attorney, but has not asked me to write this letter and does not know that I am doing this. I am writing solely because I believe in the importance of this race and the strength of his candidacy.
I can say that the job of prosecutor not only involves the obvious and serious trial work, but also the everyday, not so obvious and often difficult things that no one hears about. Being on call in the middle of the night, every night, for the police asking for legal advice when they require it. Working closely with local law enforcement in order to secure successful outcomes in the cases they initiate. Listening to the grief of and offering comfort to victims and their families. Helping children and families in crisis. Working with judges and the courts to ensure the efficient functioning of the court system. Considering the situations of defendants and working with defense attorneys to ensure relationships with service providers such as the Columbiana County Counseling Center to assure that local resources are being used to their full advantage as they relate to the court system. Exuding confidence, calming nerves, giving strength to others before, during and after trial. Addressing the press and public. Prosecutors are often asked in essence to solve the unsolvable – to undo loss, to take away suffering, to restore lives.
I have always and without fail known John as being a competent attorney with a love of public service and a demonstrated understanding of the full requirements as outlined above of the job of Columbiana County Prosecutor. I urge your support for John Gamble for Columbiana County Prosecuting Attorney.
