Family thankful for those honoring Vice-Admiral Tony Less

To the editor:

The family of Vice-Admiral Tony Less would like to send a huge  THANK YOU to all the members of the American Legion Post 131 in Leetonia, the VFW Post 5532 of Washingtonville, the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Leetonia, Columbiana Legion Post 290 Color Guard, Mission Barbeque of Boardman, Glen Windram of Leetonia for writing the original story that started this whole process, Pastor Kari Lankford of St. Paul’s Leetonia, the Leetonia School System,  the Leetonia Band, State Senator Michael Rulli, Congressman 6th district Bill Johnson,  and Petty Officer Todd Walters for such an eloquent speech, and especially for Legion Members Norm Kegelmyer and Bill Billet for putting this all together.

What a magnificent day it turned out to be!  The response and support from this community was absolutely phenomenal.  Tony was greatly touched.  He mentioned several times during his address how proud he was to have been born and raised in the Leetonia and Washingtonville area where as he put it everyone knew who you were and everyone had your back!  He has traveled all over the world during his career but said he was proud to always call Leetonia his home!  So is his family!
