Born to run

April 15, 2012
Salem News

Freedom was the word for the dogs at the Columbiana County Dog Pound as Lionel, a 5-year-old labrador mix, and recently adopted Sergeant Kane ran and jumped in the new grass enclosure following the ribbon cutting ceremony for the fence Saturday. The fence and labor were donated by David Rutecki, owner of Estherlee Fence Co. The dogs who spend their time in small areas with concrete floors now have a large area to run and play and even relax, unleashed. Chief Deputy Dog Warden Shannon Triplett and the volunteers smiled from ear to ear as they watched the dogs, many of which have led traumatic lives, played and checked out spots in their new yard.
