COLUMBIANA - Twila Eileen Powell, 84, of Columbiana, died Tuesday at home.

Born April 26, 1928, in New Middletown, she was the daughter of James and Helen (Beight) Simcox.

Mrs. Powell was employed as a secretary to the engineering department of Truscon Steel.

On May 24, 1952, she married Tracy Powell and they made their residence in Columbiana. She was a lifetime member of Old Springfield United Church of Christ. An auto accident in 1972 left her with serious injuries and ongoing consequences.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Tracy Powell; a son, David of North Olmsted; a daughter, Jane Ann (Nevin) Yoder of Salesville; a granddaughter; a brother, Lewis Simcox of Greenville, N.C.; and two sisters, Mary Jane Williams and Ida Mae Metz of Columbiana.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Bartholomew officiating.

Family and friends are invited to visit to sign the guestbook or to send private condolences.
