LISBON - Lois Irene Brooks, 81, of Lisbon, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Northside Medical Center in Youngstown after a short illness.
Mrs. Brooks was born on March 17, 1931 in Columbiana, a daughter of the late Joseph and Zora E. Trotter Dishong and had lived in this area all of her life.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Leetonia.
Her husband, Franklyn H. Brooks Sr., whom she married Sept. 25, 1948, died March 12, 1996.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Bob) Crites of Norwalk and Barbara (Gary) Andres of Salem; two sons, Franklyn H. Brooks Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and James (Margaret) Brooks of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Helen DeLucia of Columbiana; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Crites.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Ashley McMillin officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
